Chapter 3: Escaping The Hospital

I looked up at Natalia "When are we leaving this place" i was amazed by her voice "well, are you familiar to this area?" we can probably hijack a car, or find one that had the keys in it. Anyways, if there was no zombie apocalypses i would learn to drive this year. "ya i just moved here 2 years ago... still adjusting, but i know the area" great "OK do you know the way to a store or something, a big one, nearby?" she seemed to think "ya there is a seven 11 nearby, like a 6 minute drive" awesome, so we would grab a car, get some supplies, and find survivors. It shoulder be that hard. Something caught my eye behind her shoulder. How the hell did i not see that? "i have a idea"she squinted at me and looked behind her to see what i was looking at. "how is a window going to help us?" that made me smile "we can locate a car, or use it as a escape route" i purposely said it in a matter-of-fact tone. "OK we should look for supplies here" that's not a bad idea. "got it" we all spread out looking for useful items. Natalia found a taser, I surprisingly found a fully loaded gun with extra bullets, and lily found a knife... We also found some snacks, we took the sealed ones. "alright, let's go" we pulled open the blind "can you drive?" if she did not know i would have to learn quick. "um... i am 16, i was suppose to learn this year... sorry" wow, there is a lot we don't know about each other. "that's fine i am 16 too, i was suppose to learn a month from now" as i was talking i looked outside, about 100 yards away was a single zombie, fairly close was a black SUV. There is our target. "OK, let's go" I grabbed the supplies and opened the window "Grab Lily, and follow me" she grabbed Lily and stepped out the window holding her. We jogged to the jeep and i tried the door. Surprisingly it was unlocked. I opened the side door and putt the stuff in the back seat. I then quickly moved to the front door and sat down. I turned around and saw Natalia putting on Lily's seat belt then her own. I put mine on and looked to the ignition. The keys were in too! "the keys are in the ignition..." i told them "I wonder how much gas it haves..." i muttered to myself. I turned the key, it haves a quarter, fifth gas. "OK, there is a sufficient amount of gas" i smiled to myself "alright Lucy, let's go right once we get there" she pointer to a exit and I followed her directions. After around 5 minutes we came to a seven eleven. I was surprised on how well I did, I was pretty good, then again, my dad let me drive sometimes over the past 3 years, and my mom explained how to drive. So it was not that surprising when you think about it. Anyway I parked the not caring how perfect it was, and reached for my seat belt sssshhhhrrrrrriiiinnnngccccc the sound of shattering glass. I looked up, there was a teen, broad built male holding a gun in our direction. Oh no, this won't go well. He fired while walking towards us, his next shot in the leather seat, RIGHT by my head. "stop! No! Stop!" I hope he would stop shooting, but my luck ran out, he SHOT my shoulder!!!
