I wake up and it feels like any run-of-the-mill day. Morning breath, bed-head, B.O., you know, the usual for a normal 15 year old boy. I lay still, pretending to be asleep in case my mom comes in because if she finds me awake, my Saturday will begin without me being ready for it. As I expected, I hear her walking down the hall towards my room, and slowly open my door. I open my left eye just a little bit so I can check if she's in my room or not. She is.
"Tony, are you awake, dear?" As long as I don't move a muscle and keep my breathing even, I should be okay.
I barely hear her mutter "Guess not," before she turns around and walks out of my room, closing my door behind me.
As soon as she shuts the door I hear my phone buzz from my nightstand. I reach over and grab it from where it was plugged in. I tap the screen and see a notification: ONE NEW MESSAGE with the little envelope and an option for reading the message and another for ignoring the message beneath it. Oh well, I'll read it later. For now, time to read.
See, the one thing about me is that I love my books and T.V. shows. No matter how many times I've read and re-read them. If I love a book or a series, then I love it for life. Especially the ones I re-read whenever I'm out of books such as Harry Potter, The Ranger's Apprentice, The Maze Runner, The False Prince, Eragon, Percy Jackson and the Artemis Fowl series. All series listed above are some of my all time ever favorite book series, that's not saying that's all of them, not at all. And with how often I read them, you'd think I'd be bored of them now. But nope. I love them as much as I did when I first read them.
And don't even get me started on T.V. I re-watch television as much as I re-read books. Doctor Who, Arrow, The Flash, Sherlock, Merlin and sooo much more. Needless to say, I'm a HUUGEEE nerd. So huge I don't have anyone over now because my room is full of posters they'd give me crap for. And don't even get me started on "Netflix and Chill..." If I had a girl over, I definitely wouldn't do anything having to do with Netflix because my list is full of nerdy shows, all of the ones listed above are on there also. Heck, I'm 15 and I still watch Pokemon for crying out loud.
I finished a book last night so I go over to my pullout bookshelf, it also has a rotating base, so I can spin the books around AND it conserves space. I made it myself a few years ago. I pull open the doors to the shelf and look at my books. "Hmm," I think to myself. "What book should I read next..?" As always, I can't decide so I do what I always do when that happens: I spin the shelf, close my eyes and hold my finger out. After a few seconds, I put my finger on the still spinning books, and they eventually stop. I open my eyes to see what book I will be reading. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Sorcerer's Stone for us Americans, unless you're a true Potterhead.
I jump on my bed and lay on my back, open my book to the first page and start reading...
