Zayn’s POV

Using the spare set of keys, I let myself into Diana’s flat. I flicked on the light switch and headed to the kitchen for a cup of tea, after hanging up my coat. Harry hadn’t returned before Louis and I had left. I didn’t want to admit it but the whole time he was gone I had been wondering where he could possibly be. I knew he was having lunch with a friend but how long does lunch last? Eventually I had castigated myself for thinking about him so much and had reminded myself he was Liam’s kid brother. Just that.

I carried my cup of tea to the dining table and sat. As I drank I observed the flat. Diana was doing really well, for a 26-year-old, to be able to afford a flat in Chelsea. Then again, she was a part-time model, at least until she finished her architecture course.

On queue, the lock clicked and Diana pushed the door open and stumbled in with a handful of bags and a dripping raincoat.

“Oh my god!” she groaned, “it’s absolutely pouring out there!”

I chuckled and went to help her with her bags. She smiled gratefully as I took them and dropped in her room. When I returned to where I’d left her she had taken off her raincoat and was stretching, with her back to me. I slipped my arms around her waist and pressed my face into her wet hair. She sighed and leaned back into me.

“Did you have a good day?” I asked.

“No. The photographer was a right pain in the ass,” she grumbled. Then she purred softly as I kissed her neck. “It’s much better now that you’re here.”

“That’s all I was going for,” I murmured as I kept kissing her. She twisted around to face me.

“How about you? How was your day?”

“Good. It was nice to catch up with Liam and Louis.” I released her and walked to the kitchen. “Tea?” I called.

“Yes, please!” she replied, following me. She leaned against the counter as I put the kettle on. “Nice, huh?” she continued, “anything interesting happen?”

I felt myself tense up for some reason but I tried to play it off.

“Nothing out of the ordinary. Would you like sugar or milk in your tea?”

“You know I can't. Too many calories. So you boys didn’t do anything?”

“Why all this questioning?” I turned round and faced her. She raised her eyebrows innocently.

“I don't know what you mean. I’m just asking if you had a good day–”

“Di, you have never cared what I do when I’m with the boys so why the sudden interest?”

“I was just asking! Zayn you’re overreacting. Christ, now you’re getting all defensive, maybe I should be suspicious!”

“Of me hanging out with my mates?” I yelled, “you don't see me being possessive when you hang out with your guy friends!”

“Maybe that’s because I was honest to you from the start!” she retorted, “I never lied about my sexuality–”

“Neither did I!”

“But you weren’t exactly honest about it either!”

“Jesus, Diana, when did you ever ask me if I was 100% straight?”

“I shouldn’t have needed to!” she exclaimed. She pressed her fingers to her temples. “Look, I’m going to have a shower. Do whatever you want. We’ll talk later.” And she turned and left the kitchen, leaving me all by myself.
