Entry 4,
Today I learnt something devastating. It began when a surprise guest came to my house for a cuppa. Romano decided that he was going to visit me along with a new book that he wanted to read. I greeted him happily and brought him in. He always was doing this these days, bringing me books so I could read them to him. It seems that he still can't admit to Spain that he cannot read in anything other than Italian. However, as we continued with the book and the conversation, Romano burst out into tears. Startled, I tried my best to comfort him. That was until the words no country ever wants to hear left his mouth.
He told me he was dying.
With Italy becoming one nation he explained that there was no need for two personifications. I had tired my best to comfort him, but it seems that I am the only person he has told. This really is a predicament.
