"R-Ronald?"
"Yeah? You okay, Hermione? I saw that fall, and what happened, and where is Viktor, and-"
"Ronald, calm down, I fell because the of the stair changes, and because Parvati made me wear heels. I left because Viktor was drunk on that stupid spiked punch, and he's just outside the Hall, babbling about Quidditch." I explained.
"I'm going to kill that-"
"Ronald!" I stopped him, suppressing a laugh.
He looked at me, about to crack up laughing. And he did, right there on the steps. He cracked up laughing, me soon following, still in his arms.
Once he sobered up a bit, he helped me up, still grinning. We walked, together, up the rest of the way, telling cheesy jokes the entire way.
We sat down on the sofa together, and I walked upstairs, promising to be back. Once I got up there, I grabbed my laptop and some candy. I also spelled myself into my pyjamas, which consisted of a tank top and two sizes too large pants that I had charmed not to fall off.
"Ron!" I skipped the last step, cheering to myself as he turned towards me. "Fancy a movie night?"
He looked at me confused. "Shouldn't we get the others?"
"Please, you know they won't be back anytime soon. Lyra and Harry, as much as they hate dancing, love each other, and I saw Sarah and Lee together. Plus, Gabrielle and Aaron were a match made in heaven." I smiled softly, remembering the love in their eyes.
"Didn't know you could be so mushy, 'Mione." He smirked at me as I blushed.
"That's beside the point. What movies do you want to watch? Do you want some candy, or anything? I can spell up some popcorn- kettle or butter? And do you-" Ron placed a rough hand over my mouth and smiled.
"Whatever you want, Hermione."

"Harry, this is amazing." I grinned, looking into his emerald eyes, dancing. "All of this, the dancing, the food- oh no."
Harry turned back to see what I was looking at. Neville and Ginny, dancing, not noticing a broken-hearted Hannah and Dean. Harry, noticing the desperation in my eyes, nodded at me to go.
Running in the opposite direction of the two broken-hearted teens, I looked for Seamus, who, as much as I currently despised him, was Dean's best friend.
He was leaning against the door frame, smirking at my flustered face. "Seamus! Listen, I know you hate me and all, but Dean needs help. Long story short, Neville came to the ball with Ginny, leaving both Hannah and Dean with a broken heart. I'll take care of Hannah, but, please, he's your best friend, and-" Before I could finish my sentence, he had run off.
"Lyra!" I heard a normally quiet blonde girl wail behind me.
"Han!" I ran up to her and let her cry on my arms, slowly leading her back to the Hufflepuff dorms.
Once we got there, I sat her on the fluffy couch and let her rant to me.

"Okay, wait, what's that?" Ron asked. I rolled my eyes and paused the movie, again, smiling.
"That's an orc, Ron."
We were watching the first movie from the the Hobbit trilogy, and he was extremely confused.
"Hey, Hermione?" He asked after a small period of silence.
"Yeah?"
"Is that the troll from first year?"
I laughed a bit. "No, Ron. And we only fought one troll, remember?"
"Oh, please, you know Harry and I did all the work." He said, joking, but I was looking at my feet in shame.
Ron looked. . . guilty, maybe? He placed his hand under my chin, gently moving my my gaze from my bare feet to his hazel eyes.
"'Mione, you may not've fought a troll, but you've been more of a help to me, and especially Harry, than anyone else.
"Without you, we'd still be stuck in first year, failing all our class work. Without you, Harry could've had the wrong potion first year, and I know for a fact neither of us would've figured out that a basilisk lived in the Chamber. Hermione, you're the reason none of us have died yet, if that means anything."
"Ron, I-"
"Nope. That is the first, and probably the last, time you'll get see me be all. . . mushy and stuff, so enjoy it." He declared, smiling.
I rolled my eyes, laughing at his behavior. We made an unspoken agreement to turn back to the movie, and spent the next few hours in the same position- not too close, but not too far away.

"I-I really thought he liked me!" Hannah wailed.
"Han, he did. And what's your favourite thing about Neville?" I asked, smiling softly.
"H-he's really nice. And he'll help anyone who needs it."
"Exactly. He heard Ginny raving about the ball, and he knew she would take up any chance to impress Dean. She couldn't go by herself, because she was too young, so Neville asked her. I heard him, Han, they were going as friends." That seemed to calm her down a bit, and she slowed her tears.
"Th-thanks, Lyra. I don't even know why I was so freaked out, exactly. I mean, he's just a boy, right?"
"Right. A boy who you're going to marry." I smirked, leaving the room.
"What was that?" She asked innocently, genuinely not knowing what I said. That's what I love about Hannah. She is the single least sarcastic, sly, and evil person you'll ever meet. Of course, I don't have a problem with that occasionally, but it's nice to have a break.
"Er. . . Ly?"
As I was walking, lost in thought, I realized that I had reached the Hall again, and had been staring at Harry for the past few minutes.
"Oh yeah, sorry." He just chuckled at my foolishness and led me out to a bench by the Black Lake. The bench, I realized, is where we danced at the Winter Ball last year.

(A/N: I'm so sorry for not updating on forever! The reason is. . .
I'm working on a new story!
It's a Female Marauders/Marauders Era, about the trio Sarah, and occasionally, Lyra's parents! Plus, a Remus Lupin and Other Person love story! It's all the same story, of course, and the Female Marauders are only three, but the first chapter is up!
The one on the left is Hailstorms, the new one. Thanks to whoever tries it out!)
