Chapter 12: Jumpscare

What came out of the bottom cabinet, scared me. It was just a small mice. I got scared for nothing.

When I look on top of the counter, next to the stove was a half full of popcorn. I guess somebody left it here, oh well. All for me now!

I took the plate of popcorn and munch it down while walking to the rooms. I check in all the rooms except for the basement.

"Guys! Don't make me come in the basement, I don't like dirty nasty basements!" I said yelling out. Which was pretty stupid of me.

I went down the steps slowly, hearing one of the steps creaking against my weight. I heard shuffling, so of course being scared, I went back up.

"G-guys...please just come out! I-I don't want to go d-down there!" I said with tears almost spiling. I slid down the wall next to the basement door onto the floor.

I heard a door opened with the sound of a flush toilet and the sink on. Someone turned off the faucet and walked towards the hall I was in. I drop the popcorn when the person speak.

"(Y/n)? Is that you?" Someone said.

"Um, who is that?" I said standing up slowly.

"It's Travis," he said coming towards me.

I have never run so fast in my life. I ran to Travis and hug him for a long time.

"W-whoa! What's with the sudden hug?" Travis said while I was still hugging him. He hugged me back.

"Something or someone is down in the basement. I tried to go down but I heard shuffling and the lights are off," I explained while letting go of the hug. "Also you made me drop my popcorn!"

"Ohhh sorry, where is the group?" He asked while chuckling a bit.

"Weren't you with them?" I questioned him.

"Yea but I had to go to the bathroom. It took me a long time to find the bathroom but once I came out, they weren't in the kitchen anymore so I found you," he explained. "What are you doing here?"

"The group didn't call me over to there little chat," I said. "I bet they're planning something."

"Probably," Travis said. "Let's go down to the basement."

"B-but I don't want to," I said a bit scared. "I hate basements!"

"Stay behind me then," he said.

"Ok," I said grabbing his back while I was holding on to his shirt.

We slowly step down the stairs until we reach the bottom. Travis looked around the basement while I was still holding on to him. It was huge and dirty with spider webs.

Suddenly we heard a noise coming to the left of the basement. I let go of Travis shirt and back up slowly.

"What's wrong?" Travis said turning around to face me, worried.

"N-nothing," I said shaking.

"Of course there is something wrong," Travis said getting close to me. "Tell me, please."

"F-fine, I'm scared," I said still shaking. "I don't like this b-basement, it creeps me."

"It's ok," Travis said hugging me. "I'll protect you."

"Thank you," I said, hugging back.

We let go of each other and I held on to the back of his shirt again. We followed the noise but only for me to stop Travis.

"Why you stop?" Travis asked me.

"I'm not following that noise!" I said. "Im going to the other side of the basement."

"Ok, be careful," Travis said going to the noise again.

His steps became fainted. All I heard was water dripping. It was quiet and dark. I can't see anything!

"Come out guys!" I said. "Please!"

I heard something came out of somewhere. I turned around quickly.

"Travis?" I said, worried.

No sound made. I heard one footstep coming. Two footstep coming. Three, four, and more footstep coming.

I backed up slowly, heading to the stairs. I ran up the stairs before that thing gets me.

I didn't shut the door because Travis was still in there, so I plop myself down on the wall besides the door.

I was breathing heavy, taking deep breaths to calm me down. I stood up and went to the hallway to get back to the living room.

The closet door open slowly while I was walking. Me being dumb, I stood there frozen. Slowly the door open....

A monster thing came out.

"AHHHHHH!!!!" I said screaming/crying. "PLEASE STOP! I-I DONT WANT TO DO THIS A-ANYMORE!"

Now I was taking very heavy breaths. Travis came up the basement stairs quickly to see me on the floor. The monster thing was trying to calm me down.

"DONT TOUCH ME YOU THING!" I said, trying to calm down. Travis helped me up until I saw black spots trying to take over my vision.

The monster thing took off its mask. It was Laurance. The rest of the group came out of there hiding spots.

"Hahaha," Katelyn said. "That was hilarious!"

"Katelyn...," Garroth said. "Look at (Y/n)."

Katelyn turned to face me. I was dizzy and ready to fall but I kept my posture.

Slowly the black spots took over my vision and I fainted. I fell right on the floor, past out. The last thing I heard was "I'm sorry, I should of never thought of th...." before I past out completely.

Laurance POV

"What have I done?!" I said freaking out.

"Well you obviously killed her!" Dante said.

"No time for jokes Dante!" Aphmau said, hitting his shoulders.

I slowly picked up (Y/n) bridal style and brought her to the living room. I placed her down on the couch. Kawaii~Chan went to get a cloth and wash it with hot water. She came to the living room and placed it on (Y/n)'s forehead.

"How long is she going to be past out?" I asked.

"Kawaii~Chan don't know. It depends," Kawaii~Chan said with a hint of worried.

I saw Travis bending down right next to (Y/n).

"I told you I would protect you," he said, brushing (Y/n)'s hair back. "But I failed..."

Long chapter, oh well. I hope you can enjoy it. It's the least I can do.
