Lucy and Loke walked around the cave for what seemed like an hour. There was no sign of any

danger, but they both kept their guard up.

“Finding this staff is a lot harder than it seems,” Lucy said with a sigh.

"We’re going to have to go deeper into this cave,” Loke explained. “But I’m sure we’ll find it.”

They both heard something in the distance, and decided to head in the direction of the sound.

“It’s the sound of flowing water,” he said in realization.

Loke still held Lucy’s hand, making sure that they wouldn’t get separated. They reached the source

of the water, and found there was a small stream flowing throughout the cave. After reaching the

stream, they decided to move further into the cave. However, they eventually stopped in front of two

path ways.

“Let’s take the left,” Lucy suggested pointing at the direction they would take.

“I’ll go wherever you go love,” he responded while giving the gesture to take the lead.

“Stop joking around!”

He began to laugh at how her face became flustered, but his expression changed immediately

when he saw an unknown figure behind her. He quickly pulled her towards him. Lucy was

surprised at his sudden action, and stared into the darkness.

“Wh-what’s wrong?” she said looking concerned now.

“I thought I saw something behind you, he explained. “Maybe we should go right instead.”

“Sounds like a good idea.”

They started to go right, but before Lucy stepped further into the path, she looked back to make sure

if anything was following them. Nothing seemed to be there, so she ran forward to catch up with

Loke. She took his hand, and continued their search.

As they wandered around the cave, Lucy stopped walking to turn around once again. While still

holding her hand, he realized she stopped to look behind her.

“What’s up?” he asked.

“I thought I heard something,” she said worried.

“We’re going to have to be ready if anything pops out,” he said looking serious. “Don’t worry Lucy I’ll

protect you.”

“Who said I needed protecting? I can take care of mysel-”

Thud… Thud…

“It’s time to go,” he said as they started running.

From behind, they could hear something coming after them. They started to run faster, and quickly

took another path. In the distance, it seemed like there was a light coming from somewhere

outside the cave.

They reached the light, and turned to look behind them. A large figure with red eyes, sharp teeth,

and many legs came into view.

“What is that?” Lucy questioned.

“It looks like a giant spider, but I could be wrong….” He said still trying to distinguish the creature. “It

doesn’t really matter right now. We have to defeat it.”

Setting his torch down, Loke began to head toward the monster. A light from his rings revealed that

he was using his magic. He punched the strange creature on its side, while Lucy used her whip to

attack.

Lucy quickly pulled out a gold key from her pocket and shouted, “Open Gate of the Maiden, Virgo!”

“You called Princess?” Virgo said awaiting her command.

“Go underground, and surprise attack that thing from below.”

“As you wish Princess.”

Loke was doing a good amount of damage on the spider looking creature. Soon after, Virgo busted

out of the ground, and sent it flying. It landed on the ground with great force, making no movements.

“Good job Virgo,” Lucy said giving her a thumbs up.

“I will take may leave now Princess.” As Virgo said this, she returned back into the spirit world

leaving a puff of smoke.

“Loke are you alright?”

“Yeah, I’m not hurt.”

“Well at least that’s over. Was that what you saw behind me before?”

“I don’t think so. The figure I saw before wasn’t that large. We better keep our guard up if anything

else comes at us.”

They decided to rest for a while, but after twenty minutes, they were on the move again.
