The train ride to the nearest town was pretty quiet. There weren’t many people, but it made it a lot

better for Lucy to just relax. She stared out the window of the train, until she felt a presence behind

her.

“May I sit here beautiful?”

The familiar voice was of course, Loke, her celestial spirit. He had a habit of coming out into the

human world whenever he felt like it. So it wasn’t a surprise to her to see him there. He was

wearing his usual outfit; a suit, a red tie, and a pair of blue sunglasses.

“Loke, what brings you here?” she questioned.

“I thought I would stop by and say hello to everyone, but I didn’t know you were on a mission. Is it

just you today?”

“Yup, just me. I’m doing this mission.”

She handed him the paper, and he took it without a word. He began to scan the paper.

So a missing treasure. This shouldn’t be hard, but Lucy does sometimes get into crappy situations.

Maybe I should help her out.

She looked at him reading the paper, until he blurted out, “Do you mind if I tag along on this mission?”

She was somewhat surprised. Having Loke around would be easier for her. He didn’t destroy

anything during missions like the others, so him tagging along seemed fine.

“Sure. If you really want too.”

“Thanks Lucy. I’m using my own power right now, so your magic won’t be affected. You can count

on me,” he said while giving her a warm smile.

His smile made her blush, but she couldn’t help but smile back.

Once they got to the town, Loke and her took a boat to Sky Island. Apparently, there was a village

there that would explain the mission to them in further detail.

As they sailed to the island, the sky began to change.

“That’s strange. It was sunny just a minute ago. Loke, do you think a storm is coming?”

“I’m not sure,” he responded looking confused.

“Loke look up!”

To his astonishment, the sky was immediately filled with millions of stars.

“Wow, it’s so beautiful,” Lucy said in awe.

“Yeah. It’s just like the spirit world. I never knew there was a place like this in this world,” he said

while still looking at the sky.

“So this is what it would be like in the spirit world. I would love to go, but humans are

unfortunately forbidden to enter,” she said with a sigh.

“If you really want to go, I could try to ask permission for you to enter. I’ll just have to talk with

the higher ups about it.”

“Really? You can do that? You don’t need to go through all that trouble for me.”

“It’s no problem, besides you went through all the trouble just to save my life. Remember?”

Loke was right about that, but he really didn’t have to do go out of his way just so she could be

granted permission to see his world.

Could he be doing this to impress me? Or is it because he supposedly “loves” me. No it can’t be that.

Whenever he says he loves me, it always sounds like a joke. Even if his feelings were real, a

relationship with a human and a celestial spirit was unlikely to work out.

Loke noticed that Lucy’s expression changed. She looked disappointed from whatever was on her

mind.

“Lucy, are you okay?”

Breaking her chain of thought, Lucy responded saying, “I’m fine. I hope things work out with the

higher ups. Then you can show me around your home.”

“Yeah…”

He was still concerned about what she was sad about, but he decided to push it back into his mind

for now. They had arrived on the island, and it was time to start the mission.
