"Wake up, Avril! Dang it! If you don't get off your lazy butt in five seconds, you are getting drenched in water!"
Eyes snapping open, she jumped out of bed. She ran towards the door and shouted.
"I'm up! I'm up! Do not get the bucket!"
The last time Avril thought her sister was bluffing, she quickly learned that "bluff" was not part of her vocabulary. When her crazy sibling says something, she means it. She was kind of grateful for the human alarm clock though. At least it got her to actually wake up and stay up.
After taking a ten minute shower and another eight minutes to change, Avril stumbled down the stairs. A lone sandwich rested on the table.
"Grab your food and let's go. If you sit and eat you're going to be late for school". Her older sister grabbed the car keys and bolted for the door.
Avril grabbed her breakfast and hurried after her, making sure to lock the door on her way out. The eldest sister, Chloe, was already the starting the car.
The ride to the school building was quite uneventful, considering Chloe's outrageous personality. As they rounded the curb of the parking lot, Avril spotted two figures. At the front of the school's building, Edward and his brother Alphonse were waiting. Waiting on who? Well, Avril of course.
The vehicle slowed down to a halt and Avril hopped out the door, waving bye to her sister with a smile. She jogged towards the brothers and flashed a grin.
"Hey Ed and Al!"
"Hi Avril. Brother and I were just waiting on you to get here", the youngest Elric said.
"It's about time you got here", Edward said in a playful tone and smiled.
"I would have been late if Chloe didn't threaten to drown me!" the last part was emphasizing the story, but Avril had to admit, it felt like she was drowning the first time Chloe dumped water on her in bed.
The trio walked towards the double doors.
"Man. Your sister sure has some scary ways to wake you up".
"Tell me about it", Avril muttered under her breath. Her eyes perked up suddenly. "Oh! Where's Winry?"
Ed looked around the area. "I don't know... Well, if I know her, she probably slept in again".
Avril chuckled. "Yup. That sounds like our Winry all right".
As they entered the building, the air condition sent slight chills down Avril's back. Ed seemed protected from the gust of cool air since he wore his signature red hoodie (rumored to be a gift from his deceased mother). Al didn't seem to mind the sudden drop in temperature at all.
They made their way through the hallways, stopped at their lockers, and climbed the stairs. Alphonse was in high school, yes, but in a grade lower than the two since he was younger. He waved goodbye to his brother and to Avril and turned a corner. Avril and Edward continued down the alley and finally entered their home room: room 125.
The homeroom was nearly empty except for a few students milling around the front of the class. Roy, Riza, Maes, Havoc, and Falman waved at the pair as they entered.
They crossed the room towards the far end, chatting about the assignment the night before. Avril stopped at the desk by the window and glanced outside. The glass showed the outdoor scenery and the position of it could clearly show the parking lot. There on the asphalt, a certain blond haired girl was tailing it towards the double door.
Avril chuckled to herself and sat on her desk. Ed plunked his bag down at the desk beside hers just as Winry barged into the room (yes she managed to teleport that quickly XD).
Looking a little out of breath, she waltzed towards the duo and placed her bag on the desk behind Ed's.
"Hey Winry!" Avril exclaimed cheerfully.
"Hey! Sorry I'm late."
"Nah, it's cool. We still have, like, seven minutes before the first bell rings".
"Oh right... Hey Ed!"
"Hey Winry. How was the assignment last night?"
"Ugh! It was tiring, but fairly easy... except for this one question".
"Which one was that?"
"Well it was talking about someth-"
And that was where Avril had tuned them out. The door had opened and in walked a "certain someone". She really couldn't help the fact that when this particular character was anywhere near a ten feet radius of her, she would shut out the rest of the world. Honestly, to her, this certain character was her world. What? A bit too cheesy? Maybe a little too attached? Well, Avril couldn't care less what other people thought of her "little" crush anyway.
He was a rebel, to say the least. Leader of his own little clique of six members. Pretty laid back, confident and seemingly uncaring. He had an attitude that said "Hey! I don't care what you think of me" and it was obvious by the way he strutted in his unusual fashion sense; consisting of tight black leather pants (shorts on some occasions), a tank top cut to show a little bit of his abs *Avril stares at this point*, a black open vest, a black headband and black fingerless gloves.
When he was a new student he got teased constantly for his outfits, but after he had enough of it and snapped, nobody messed with him for a long time. Some brave souls still tease and taunt him, and he would just shrug it off (never get him on his bad days though).
His long dark green hair was spiked out, free and wild. Most was kept back by his headband, but some unruly strands formed a spiky bang reaching to his chest. He smirked at no one in particular as he strolled into the room and took a seat at the side of the class room opposite to Avril.
"Avril.... Avril... AVRIL!" Ed shouted.
"Kyaaaa!"
Winry knocked on her love-struck friend's forehead. "We were calling your name for the last five minutes. What could you have possibly been looking-" she turned to where Avril's gaze had been. Suddenly she spun around and waggled her eyebrows at the brunette.
"Ohhhhh... I get it now. You were having dreams", Winry stretched the last word a bit, earning a blush from the girl.
"Winry", Avril whined, embarrassed.
Ed just rolled his eyes. "I don't get how you could like him. He gets on my nerves and he keeps on calling me short!"
A mischievous glint shone in Avril's eyes. "Jealous much?" She teased.(Huh, ironic)
Edward scoffed with a tiny embarrassed blush on his cheeks.
"Nope. Why would I be jealous of him?"
Oh! You may be wondering what his name is. It's Envy.

Yay! Fist chapter/prologue/thingie. anywho I was dying to do an Envy fanfic like this. it's my first time doing a high school alternate universe. I love FMA fanfics with high school settings (I don't know why) so I decided to make one. sorry if it felt a bit rushed, I was trying to make it short for the first chapter (and failed), but hopefully it will be a little less rushed next time. also I may be unknowingly making some of the characters OOC on one or two occasions, sorry in advance if I do that. Avril is my personal OC as seen in my other FMA fanfic (she changed a little bit but not by too much). Also the majority of the characters are Brotherhood series characters, with Wrath and Envy's appearance resembling the original's.
Anyway (before this AN gets too long) bye-nee!
