Yato's POV:
It was the first day, after the incident happened. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, except for (Y/N)'s uneasy movements. She was always silent, and not as talkative as she used to be before. I had had enough, she was my everything, and I wasn't going to lose her just yet. (Y/N) and I were walking around town after a job we had just finished. I growled lowly, I wasn't going to take this anymore. When we came across an alleyway, I pushed her inside the alleyway and against the wall. "Yato!?" (Y/N) asked confused and a bit shocked. I looked down at the ground, my hair covering my eyes. "You.." I started. My breathing heavy. "You were the one that told me to make each day count, weren't you?" I asked. "Yato...I-" "Tell me! (Y/N)!" I interrupted her, glaring daggers. Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at me, her bottom lip quivered. The tears soon came. "I can't do it Yato! I just can't! I'm trying to be strong! I really, really am! But... Knowing that I'm going to die and turn into one of them... I can't go through with it anymore..." (Y/N) exclaimed looking at me. Dammit... I knew it. She was trying to be strong, except, it was hard to. She could die and become one of them at any given moment, who wouldn't be terrified? But, in order for her to be strong, I needed to be strong as well... "(Y/N), I've been through, hell and back, and I'm still going strong.. We both need to be strong for each other.." I exclaimed frowning at her. (Y/N) sighed, her (H/L), (H/C) hair covering her eyes. "I don't know how long I can keep this up, Yato..." (Y/N) exclaimed. "We'll get through this together (Y/N), I-I promise." I gulped biting my lip.
Tears were threatening to fall down my face. But I just shook it off and brushed my hair from my piercing blue eyes. "Let's get back to the shrine, o-okay?" I ask smiling weakly. She nods and before she can say anything else I heard it.

"Smells nice... Just die already... It'll be okay if you jump..."

Yato turned his head towards where the voice was coming from. There was a teenage girl on the edge of a huge building. "Come, Sekki!" I yelled. I waited for her to appear in my hand but she didn't. "(Y-Y/N!?" I ask. "O-oh, right!" She then appeared in my hand and I then jumped on top of the building. "Hey! Don't jump!" I exclaimed. The girl turned to me with tears running down her face. "Leave me alone! You don't understand! I hate being alive! I just wanna DIE!" She exclaimed. I took a step towards her, and before I could say anything... She jumped. Oh hell no, I wasn't letting this girl go so easily. I jumped off the building after her, the wind nipping at my face as I plunged down fast. I saw the girl closing her eyes, preparing for impact. I grabbed her arm and pulled her into my arms, wrapping one of my arms around her waist. I then saw it.
The phantom. It was pretty tiny for something that caused something like this. Glancing at the girl, then the phantom, I raised Sekki, and cut the phantom, being careful not to cut the girl. I then landed on the ground, on my feet, and looked at the girl. She was unconscious. I had to take her home... But where did she live? I knew this was wrong but I needed to know. "Revert, (Y/N)." I stated and (Y/N) returned to her human form. "What's wrong with her, Yato?" (Y/N) asked frowning. "She's unconscious, I need to take her home." I exclaimed setting her on the ground. I crouched down in front of her and searched her pockets until I grazed across something smooth. I pulled it out to see a phone in my hand. I unlocked the phone (with no password needed) and looked through her contacts. My eyes stopped on a contact. No... No.. It couldn't be.
