Belle's POV

I regretted waking up in the morning. My body screamed in pain, and ever movement made the pain worse. Tears dripped from my cheeks and landed on the sheets, and they were immediately soaked up by the cotton sheets. Saaya had never hurt me this much before. Her mother had told her that I had been seen with the Prince, so I paid the price.

I sat up and whimpered, more tears running down my face. I looked down and I covered my body with my sheet, crying. My body had been defiled once again because of this monster. I choked out a sob and coughed in pain. There was a bruise on my neck. I wondered why Saaya didn't just kill me last night.

I couldn't stand without holding onto something because of the pain. Usually, I could ignore the pain, but it was impossible to ignore this. I shakily put on my dress and shoes before limping my way to the kitchen. Sebastian was already there. He looked at me with pity and he walked up to me.

"I already got Saaya and Milady up and ready. The only chores you have to do is to go get the food from Kukai's shop."

I nodded and thanked him before leaving. It was pure hell, but I had to go to and get more food. I got to the store and stepped inside. I sat down at one of the chairs and sighed with relief. Kukai looked over at me and smiled.

"Oi, Daichi!Look who's here!" Kukai smiled and rushed over to me.

The younger brother looked up and came over to me as well, smiling. "I'll get your order. The usual, right?"

I nodded and gave him the money before he walked off and began to collect the foods that I always got on every Thursday. I had been best friends ever since I was old enough to leave the house on my own. I had met the two brothers and the others who had worked at the shop. Nagi and Nadeshko worked at the bakery that was connected to the store.

"What's wrong?" Kukai immediately knew that something was wrong with me.

"It's nothing," I croaked out, wincing in pain.

He frowned and went to get Nadeshko. I sighed as he went through the door and grabbed her, forcing her to come over. I looked down at my hands that were visibly shaking. They knew that I had a rough life, but they didn't know most of what actually happens to me. Kukai must of said my name, because Rima and Yaya also came through the door.

Daichi walked out with bags off food and was confused by the weird looks everyone was giving me.

"What's wrong?" Nadeshko asked, taking my hand.

I shook my head reluctantly. Nadeshko was a very good friend of mine, and she knew more about me probably than I did about myself. "I-I..." I was barely able to choke out even that.

Rima set a hand on my shoulder and I winced in pain. "Creta..."

Kukai and Daichi quickly left the room, along with Yaya, who was a few years younger than the rest of us and probably didn't realize or understand what was going on. I was pulled into a back room by the two girls and I was pushed down onto a crate. Both of the girls' stares bore into me. A pang of nervousness went through me.

"What happened?" Nade asked, setting her hand on my head.

".... T-the prince came over... He t-talked to me... Saaya... s..she..." I tried not to cry. My hands were already shaking again, and a few tears escaped and rolled down my cheeks. Nadeshko slowly unbuttoned the back of my dress and gasped.

  "M-My god..."

Later that day---

Saaya and Milady had left to go out to visit a friend out in the country. Once they had left, everyone smiled and relaxed. I sat down on my bed and looked out the window. I could see the tower where the music came from. Sometimes when I would sing at night, the person from that tower would turn on their light and play violin and play along. It always made me happy when we did duets together.

I weakly opened the window and let the nice cool breeze inside. Sighing in relief, I stretched out a bit, wincing. I began to sing the lullaby again, and I smiled when a few moments later, the violin began to play along with me. Our melody echoed throughout the air, echoing off the stone of the castle and the wall. I looked up at the tower and saw the figure looking out of the window, playing the violin. The room was too far up for my to make out a face or colors of the person. When the song finished, it could still be faintly heard echoing. It was breathtaking. The person closed their window, leaving me at peace.

I was awoken to the sound of a knock at the door. Everyone was in the garden, relaxing, so I got up and hobbled down to the doorway. I was too short to look through the window at the top of the door, so I simply opened the door. A figure stood there, their face and body covered by a black cloak.

"Hello... What is it that you need? Miss Yamabuki and her daughter are out, so-"

"Perfect," the person mumbled, walking really close to me, our bodies really close together. My eyes went wide as he pulled his hood back just enough to let me see who it was.

"Y-Your h-highness...." I stuttered and let him inside, blushing.

When the door closed, he took his cloak off and put it on the coat rack. My heart began to race and I looked up at him, our eyes locking once again,
