(Judy's POV)
"Well, I enjoyed this little moment we had, but I have to go." Nick tells me while stretching forwards to give me a hug.
I try to push him backwards but he leans forwards, his arms surrounding me, pulling me, to him. I kind of hated the idea of my cheeks turning a soft pink. Nick's a nice guy but...I don't even want to say it. We already had this dilemma before and...
His body was warm, welcoming.
JUDY, STOP!
I gave him a friendly hug, but I pushed him softly away from me. He looks at me with those emerald eyes of his.
"D-Don't you want me to take you? Wherever it is you have to go?" I ask him.
He gives me once again his signature smile and shakes his head.
"No, thank you, Carrots." He nods his head once as a goodbye before putting his paws on his pockets. He turned around and left me infront of the pizzeria.
(Nick's POV)
"Well, I enjoyed this little moment we had, but I have to go." I tell Judy. There was just something I wanted to check out with Finnick. I just felt something vaguely familiar from that pig we have to find. I've seen his face before, heard the name before. I lean forwards to give her a hug, since that's the proper way to say goodbye in many cases, like this one. She also seemed stressed as of late, so I supposed this was a good way to show her that I support her no matter what, that she's not alone.
Although, Judy had another thing in mind. I saw her trying to take a step backwards and also trying to push me away. Was she that stressed out? She helped me in so many ways on the last case, she might not even know about it.
I engulfed myself in the belief that I couldn't become something else, besides a rotten fox. A con. A smooth robber. Bending the law in the most expertly way possible.
Until she changed that...
I stretch my arms around her small body even if she didn't want it.
After a few seconds of being the only one hugging, she returned my hug. She felt so cold.
It was brief, but she seemed to have woken up from a daze.
I look down at her amethyst eyes, shinning with the night lights. Under those eyes, I saw worry.
"D-Don't you want me to take you? Wherever it is you have to go?" She asks me.
"No, thank you, Carrots." I admit. I wanted her to go home, to her apartment. I nod once to imply my goodbye. I placed my paws on my pockets and walked away.
I walk in the night looking for Finnick's van. Where did that pipsqueak run off to? Now that I think about it, I haven't seen him in a while.
This town never slept. It was 10:57 P.M. and I still haven't spot the little guy's van...
Hehehe...little guy. I can't believe I made myself laugh at that one. Why didn't I laugh when I called him pipsqueak? That was a good one too.
I cross the street and the next thing I know...
Beep beep beeeeeeep.
"Hey moron, how about looking both ways before crossing the street. You're gonna get killed one of these days!" said a deep voice I recognized instantly.
