Christina's POV
It's been nearly a week since Kayla got shot and Lauren's a complete mess, she's still blaming herself for all of this and it's really taking a toll on her. I just wish that she could see that Kayla did this on her own, we didn't force her to.
We've postponed the tour until Kayla gets better and the CimFam understands and has been sending Kayla their prayers which we are all grateful for.
"Laur, come on we have to go back to the hotel." I say gently.
"I can't Chris, what if she wakes up while we're gone and she thinks we don't care!" she says not looking up from Kayla.
"Lauren, you haven't changed or showered in a week."
"Neither has Kayla, oh wait that's because she's in a coma!" she says turning to face me with tears in her eyes.
Lauren hasn't left since we got here and she's barely eating and it's really starting to worry me.
"Come one Robin, Batman needs you too." I say using our old nicknames.
"Just leave me alone please, I need to just think for a bit." she pleads and I nod walking out to talk to our parents.
Lauren's POV
I feel so terrible, Kayla hasn't woken up yet and it's all my fault that she's even in a coma. I don't know how to cope with the fact that someone hates me so much that they wanted to kill me.
I haven't left the hospital since we got here and I don't plan on leaving without Kayla.
We've learned that Kayla is an orphan since no one has come looking for her and no one has called the police to alert them of a missing person.
A random shiver goes down my spine which has been happening a lot recently but this time it felt different.
"Lauren?" a raspy voice calls out.
Kayla's POV
I open my eyes and see... Lauren Cimorelli? I must be imagining this, there's no way that THE Lauren Cimorelli would be here, wait where is here?
"Lauren?" I ask my voice all raspy.
"Kayla! You're awake!" she says loudly but not quite at yelling level.
"Yeah. I guess, but how do you know my name? and where are we?"
"We're at the hospital and you told us you're name while we were waiting for the ambulance to come sweetie." she says standing up from the chair she was sitting in and grabs my hand.
Waiting for the ambulance? What in the world is she talking about?
"Ambulance? What are we talking about? What happened?" I ask really confused.
"You don't remember?" she asks looking a little sad but suddenly Christina, as in THE Christina Cimorelli, walk in and says "Okay Laur, mom and dad says-" but then quickly stops when she sees me awake.
"Hey Kayla, how are you feeling?" she asks standing behind Lauren's chair.
"I don't really know, I feel normal." I say.
"Chrissy, she doesn't remember what happened." Lauren chokes out in a whisper.
Christina nods and asks Lauren to leave the room for a second so she can tell me everything and Lauren nods and gets up, quickly walking away with... are those tears in her eyes?
Why would Lauren cry over me? I'm a nobody and she's so popular.
"Kayla, what happened was you came to our concert and..." before she could finish I stopped her as I got a flashback, not like I was day dreaming or something it was more like when Raven would get visions on That's So Raven.
I remembered everything, from me going to the concert alone to that guy pulling a gun on Lauren to them talking to me before I passed out.
"I remember, everything." I say quietly and Chris nods towards the door and Lauren comes back in.
"You told her everything?" she asks nervously.
"Actually, she remembered everything herself." Stina says cracking a small smile.
"Can you give us a minute?" Laurie asks Chris who nods and gets up walking towards the door.
As soon as the door is closed Lauren starts asking me questions.
"Why did you do that for me? Why would you risk your life for me?" she asks looking deeply into my big brown eyes as if she was searching for the answer in my soul.
"Because, you saved my life. The least I could do was return the favor."
"You didn't have to." she says gently grabbing my hand and just then a doctor comes in and says "Kayla, I'm glad you're awake and you don't seem to have any signs of having any major damage so you are free to go once an adult signs your release papers."
Both Lauren and I nod and she goes to get her parents as the doctor leaves leaving me all by myself but only for a second as Christina, Katherine, Lisa, Amy, Lauren, Dani, Christian, Mike Sr. and Lynne all walk in.
Lynne already got the papers from the doctor on their way out I guess and is quickly filling out the papers.
"Hey," Lisa says shyly.
"Hi," I say sheepishly. "How long was I out for?"
"Almost a week," Katherine says.
"Why are you guys still in New York? Aren't you supposed to be in Raleigh, North Carolina by now?" I question.
"We postponed the tour a little bit until you got better." Christian says smiling.
Before I could respond Lynne says "Okay, all the forms are signed so lets get home."
"Home?" I question. "I don't really have a home, I'm a orphan."
"We know sweetie, that's why we decided to adopt you." Mike says smiling widely.
"It's the least we could do since you saved my sugar." Dani adds.
And that was the day I started my new life as Kayla Skylar Cimorelli
