HIS DESCENT INTO THE Slytherin Common Room through Hogwarts was rather uneventful, — if one, of course, disregards the sight of Peeves unscrewing numerous chandeliers in the early hours of the morning. Passing him leisurely, Malfoy approached the Slytherin Rooms door and muttered a quick 'corvus oculum corvi non eruit.' The door appeared before him — a monumental entrance to the Dungeons.
The green chandeliers chained to the ceiling greeted him silently as Malfoy walked through the door. The fire cackled fiendishly, threatening to spill it's flames and burn down everything it could, licking the edge of the fireplace.
Scorpius sunk down into a satin chair by the fire and stretched out his legs gracefully. He watched the fire dance in one of his emerald rings.
The Great Lake howled quietly through the damp stone walls.
The common room was empty. Scorpius threw a glance at the great clock standing in the corner of the Room — his father transported a copy of the original archetype standing in his bedroom back at Malfoy Manor. The clock read a few minutes past three a.m.
He shook his platinum head to get rid of the image of a certain brunette.
Granger must've heard all that, if she wasn't sleeping, a quiet voice whispered suggestively into his ear.
Malfoy smirked.

Dear Mum,—
Rose yawned. Her encounter with Scorpius Malfoy left her sleepless in the chair until sunrise, — once she was ascertained that Joelle had gone, Rose sprinted up the steps leading to the dormitories and locked herself in the bathroom to take a long, hot, distracting shower.
How's dad? And Harry? Tell them all I said hello. I haven't been sleeping.
Rose crossed out the last sentence. The Owlery hooted back at her occasionally.
Professor Longbottom asked me to say hi. I got Outstanding in my Transfiguration exam, by the way.
You don't understand how cold it is — it's as if we're at Durmstrang for the term, though Halloween's coming up, which inevitably leads me to the recollection of your first year here, — with the troll and all.
I miss you all greatly.
With love and warm hugs,
Your Rosie.A string of golden sunlight spilled through the holes of the tower and dappled over her letter like specks of ichor. Rose watched, her breath hitching, as the glowing sphere crawled over the horizon.
The Owlery hooted unpleasantly, — the birds were falling asleep to the monotonous scraping of her quill.
Rose's hand flickered instantaneously, — a reflex, almost — to what was now left of the once bloodied wound.
