About 4 am
Jack's pov

I woke up to Elizabeth crying. Savannah groaned and started to get up but I stopped her. "I got her." I told her. Getting up, I walked to the other room and grabbed Elizabeth. "What got ye awake?" I asked her. She kept crying. Savannah walked in and took her away from me. "I got her. She's just hungry." She told me. "Go back to bed." She said and kissed my cheek. I sighed and walked back to her room.

Savannah's pov

After I fed Elizabeth, she didn't want to go back to bed. "Elizabeth, darling. It's four am. You need sleep." I said to her. She looked up at me like she didn't know what I was telling her. I sighed. She used to sleep very well while we were on our way back home. I carried her into my bedroom. "She won't sleep." I said when I sat on the bed. "Here." Jack said and took her from me. He got her to sleep in minutes. "No fair." I said. He shrugged and lightly smiled at me.

3 hours later

I woke up to giggling and laughing. I looked over and saw Jack lightly tickling Elizabeth and playing with her. I laid my head on Jack's shoulder. "Hey baby." I said and touched Elizabeth's cheek. She giggled. I messed with her hair. I grabbed her from Jack and she cuddled into my chest. "She's so beautiful." Jack smiled. "Just like ye." He said to me. I blushed and smiled at him. "She's more beautiful than me." I said and rubbed her back.

I got up, still holding her and walked down to the living room. Jack trailed behind me, I guess making faces to Elizabeth because she was laughing. I turned slightly and lightly slapped his chest. "What?" He asked and smirked. I rolled my eyes and smiled. I looked back at Elizabeth. "You wanna help mommy with something?" I asked. She smiled. "Okay. Let's go than." I said. "Where you going?" I heard my dad ask. "I'm going to take Elizabeth out on the town. Maybe look for some things." I said.

He nodded. "You stay here with dad." I told Jack. He pouted. "Why?" He asked. "Because I said." I smiled. He sighed. "Okay." He sighed and kissed my forehead. "Say bye, Elizabeth." I said to her. She waved. "We'll be back in an hour or so." I said and left. I walked for a bit before I got to a dress store. "Which dress do you think mommy should get?" I asked her. She made a little noise and reached out for a cream colored dress. "This one?" I asked as I took it off of the rack and looked at it. She pulled lightly on it. "Okay." I said. "Easier than I thought." I said and paid for it.

I had the lady who helped me put a cover over it. I carried it back to the house and had struggles opening the door. "Oh boy." I mumbled. I attempted to knock. The door eventually opened and revealed my dad. "Here. Let me take Elizabeth for you." He said and took her away from me. "Thank you." I said and walked in. "Sweetheart. What dress is that?" He asked as he closed the door. "Just a dress." I said and ran up to my room.

Jack was asleep on my bed and I giggled lightly. I set the dress in my closet. I heard grumbling and my bed shift. I turned and saw Jack wake up. "Hey. You're back early." He said. I scrunched my nose. "When did you start saying you instead of 'ye'?" I asked. He yawned. "I don't use it often." He said and sat up. I sat in front of him and poked his nose. "When's your birthday?" I asked. He scratched his head. "Umm... A few days." He said and yawned.

I plopped down and sighed. "Where's Elizabeth?" Jack asked. "With my dad." I said. I looked at the door of my room and groaned. "It seems too quiet." I said. Jack laid down next to me. "Dad." I called. "Yes?" He called back. "Nothing." I said. I looked towards Jack and cuddled into him. "I love you." I said. "I love ye too." Jack said as he put his arms around me. Then I heard crying.

I jumped up. I walked out the door and down the stairs. "What's wrong?" I asked. "I think she's tired." Dad said as he gave her too me. "Are you tired?" I asked Elizabeth. She sniffled and kept crying. I rubbed her back. "It's okay." I said. She set her head on my shoulder. Jack walked down and played with her hair. She stopped crying and looked up at him. "Oh. Looks like you just missed your daddy." I said. She reached out for him. "Such a daddy's girl." I said as I gave her to him.

She giggled at him. "Mine." He said and held her close. I smiled. "No. She's mine." I teased. Elizabeth lightly slapped Jack's face. "Hey. That's not nice." I said. She looked at me but quickly looked back at Jack. He kissed her cheek and she giggled. I grabbed dad's hand and pulled him into the kitchen. "What's the matter?" He asked. "Nothing." I said. "I just thought since Elizabeth is with her dad, why shouldn't I be with mine?" I asked.

I quickly made some tea for the both of us and we sat down at the dining table. He sighed as he looked at his tea. "Sixteen and already a mother." He said. I bit my lip. "I'm sorry." I said. "But to be fair, I am almost seventeen. I will be tomorrow." I said. "I know this day and age, it's not that necessary to have children at your age but still." He said. "Didn't mother have me at sixteen?" I asked him. He nodded. "She was sixteen and I was eighteen when we had you." He said. "But that was so many years ago. Now, people are in their twenties and having children." He sighed and took a drink of his tea.

I looked down. "But.. You wanted me to marry Benjamin months ago. I had just barely turned sixteen. And now, I am almost seventeen and you say I am too young? Daddy.. I honestly don't understand." I said to him. "Ben is a good man.." "I never said he wasn't." I interrupted. He gave me a look. "Sorry." I said. "I just thought that since you and Ben have been friends for ten years now, that you guys would marry. I guess I was wrong." He said. "You are too much like your mother. Her parents wanted her to marry her best friend, Jonathan. But she refused because she had met me." He smiled lightly. "But.. Then things changed." He said.

I nodded. "I know." I sighed. "I love Ben. He is really nice and charming and everything a girl could ask for. But I didn't think he was who I was going to end up with. He's more of a brother than a husband to me. That's why I didn't want to marry him." I said. Dad nodded. "I understand." He said. "Now. I know you haven't met my mother due to her dying trying to give birth to my brother, but I wanted to show you something." He said.

He got up and walked over to a drawer and pulled out what seemed like a picture. After he sat down he gave it to me. "Wow." I said as I looked at a small girl who looked exactly like Elizabeth. "That was your grandmother when she was a little girl. Not much older than what Elizabeth is now. She was probably a year and a half old in that picture." He said. "What was her name?" I asked. "Elizabeth Grace." He said simply. "Really?" I asked as I looked at him. He nodded. I looked back at the picture. She had all the same facial features as Elizabeth. But Elizabeth seemed to have more tanner skin because of Jack.

Jack came in with Elizabeth. "Jack. Come look at this." I said and motioned to come to me. He walked up to me. "Is that Elizabeth?" He asked. I shook my head. "Not our Elizabeth. My grandmother." I said. I set the picture down and grabbed Elizabeth. "Hey. Look at this." I said quietly to her as I set her in my lap. "That's your great grandmother." I said as I showed her the picture. "You look a lot like her." I told her. Elizabeth touched the photo. "Ya. That's grandma Elizabeth." I said. I kissed the side of her head and lightly hugged her.
