Chapter 4: Alone

Noah's POV

As we ran we could feel the demonic laughter quickly following us, it's as if she was always around we never could shake her. We kept running but suddenly Cody stopped. "Wha-what's wrong?" I could barely get the words out I was panting so heavily. "I'm allergic to fire ants.." I blinked at him, "Ok and?" My eyes grew wide as Cody lift his pant leg to show a large red mark, he started coughing, I had to get him back. He reached down to pick him up off the forest floor. As I picked him up he winced in pain. Then he started to breathe heavily, that's when I started to panic, I began to run with him in my arms. His body bouncing up and down as we ran. I was so scared I was not paying any attention to my surroundings. "Woah! Oww" I winced in pain Cody was on the ground a few feet away I turn around to see what I tripped on, a leg. "God dammit Izzy! We do not have time for this!" The wicked girl with her green dress and gingery hair smiled at me. "Carrying Cody again are you? I bet you're going to your secret love dungeon." She laughed, but I was not amused. "CODY IS GOING TO DIE IF WE DON'T GET HIM BACK!" Her wicked smile changed to confusion. "GO GET HELP! BECAUSE OF YOU I CAN'T  WALK!" My eyes started to fill up with tears, and Izzy grew scared, "I uh.. I'm sorry.. N-Noah.." I started crying with rage, "You have to get help Izzy!" I choked on my tears and watched as she ran toward camp, I went to Cody you was choking I had to do something but I didn't know what I could possibly do. Suddenly I hear sirens "Oh thank god they are coming". Interns spilled out of the ambulance. They were all asking questions about what happened most were looking at Cody, but one was checking out my leg. Finally they got out an epipen and injected Cody. At first I thought it was to late, I wanted to cry but I had no tears left. Suddenly he coughed and finally  breathed. "Oh thank god Cody!" I rushed to his side, he opened his eyes and I was the first thing he saw. "N-Noah" he smiled his gap-toothed smile up at me. I was completely lost in his beautiful teal eyes. "I'm so glad you're ok!" The interns looked at me in confusion, I guess they haven't ever seen me so sincere. I pulled Cody up for a hug but instead I got something else. He kissed me. He kissed me slowly. He kissed me passionately. He kissed me for what seemed like forever. The world seemed to stop, everything revolved around the two of us. I kissed him back with just as much if not more emotion. After what seemed like years he pulled away, and asked the interns to take him back in the ambulance. They loaded him up and left just like that. No good bye, no see you later, he just left. "Did I do something wrong? I thought that was amazing! Maybe he didn't feel the same way, but he kissed me!" My thoughts were racing, I just sat there, in the woods, on a log. Alone.

Cody's POV
I sat in the back of the ambulance, just staring at the doors blankly. I don't know why I kissed him, it felt amazing but I don't think he felt the same. I didn't give him a chance either though. While the interns helped me into the ambulance I could see a bit of a hurt look in Noah's face, but did not seem possible to me. We finally arrived back at camp, I went to get out but suddenly I heard a huge thump something had just landed on top of the vehicle. I rolled my eyes in a Noah sort of way and yelled "Izzy! I know you're up there!" I heard a small snicker, and then the doors opened, "Hey Cody! Just wanted to make sure you were ok!" I glared at her as best I could, "why would you care? You're the reason I'm here anyway!" She laughed, "Oh yeah cause I put fire ants there." I blushed she had a point, but we could've made it farther had she not tripped Noah. "Besides! Why would I try to kill half my OTP?" I looked up at her, but I couldn't because she was gone. "Her OTP?" The thought trailed off in my head, "I kissed Noah I have her the satisfaction, of us possibly being together, but then I left him. Ugh I'm such a schmuck." I hopped out of the ambulance and ran over to my cabin. "Hey Cody! You're ok! We heard what happened!" I sighed, "Hello Owen." I looked around and behind me. "Uh where's Noah?" I blushed, "Uh he uh he's in the woods." Owen blinked at me in confusion. "Why didn't he Come back with you?" I looked down at the floor, "I dunno" My answer clearly did not satisfy Owen, he just sighed and sat down on his bed. I whales out of the cabin before any other awkward questions could be asked. I sat on the cabin steps and just waited. I waited for Noah. "Should I go back for him? He's probably almost back already though." Several campers walked by and stopped  to talk to me but I just ignored them, and acted like they weren't there. Beth would not stop trying to talk to me. Luckily I got rid of her when I made a rude comments about her braces. I can make those comments because I once had braces, they were supposed to close my gap, but it didn't work obviously. Finally Noah walked up to me, "Hey are you ok?" He just stared at me. He stood for a second then sat down next to me. "Noah I-" "Don't" he cut me off, I looked down at the ground playing with the grass. "I don't know what's gonna happen between us Cody, but I'm not going to wait very long. We are only on this island for so long." I thought for a moment. I went to speak again but Noah stood back up. "I hope you make the right decision, I'll be waiting." I nodded and watched as he walked to the doc. That's when I heard the announcement. "ITS CHALLENGE TIME CAMPERS!" I perked up something I could do correctly. Little did I know I was going to wish this challenge didn't happen.
