Chapter 3: Worrying Too Much

The next morning Loki was pacing back and forth in front of Princess and Caroline, who were sleeping. What if it doesn’t work? What if I get Caroline into trouble? What if she gets hurt? It’ll be my fault… Loki stressed silently in his head. He stopped pacing as Princess picked her head up.

“Are you pacing again? Loki, get some rest!” Princess rolled her eyes and got up heavily.

“I can’t stop worrying about Caroline. What if she got hurt? I'd be to blame." Loki fretted.

"Nothing will happen, Loki! Besides, I'll be there, too, you know," Princess comforted him by pressing her side to his.

"You're right, Princess. Nothing will happen. I was worrying over nothing!" Loki kissed the top of Princess's head as Caroline woke up.

"What are you doing?" She demanded, getting up in a hurry. "If you weren't my sister, I would pound you!" She growled.

"Relax, Caroline. I was just comforting him," Princess rubbed up against her sister.

"Fine, I'll believe you," Caroline huffed.

"Good. Now, we need to get that plan together before the puppies wake up," Loki nodded. They huddled in a circle and whispered in hushed voices.
