(Note: this chapter is going to be extremely dark, especially toward the end. If you get triggered by self harm, don't read past the trigger warning I placed. You'll see it when you get there.)

Mark POV

I hum the tune of 'Megalovania' as I continue to drive to the cabin. This would be one of the last times I go there. Well, for now.

The end of my rent was coming, so I had to wrap this whole thing up. I couldn't let her go. No, not after what she did to Sean. That only left one option.

Hunt.

I pull up to the cabin, opening the trunk and pulling out the shotgun I had 'borrowed' from Sean's gun cabinet. I'm sure he wouldn't mind as long as I brought it back.

I step into the house, finding Emily asleep. I walk over to her and grab her shoulder, shaking her harshly. She gasps as she wakes up, turning to glare at me.

I just chuckle. "Morning. Sleep well?"

She just rolls her eyes, not answering.

"Right," I say, deciding to get right to the point. "Here's the deal. My rent time is running out on this place and I've gotten bored of you. The only reason you're still alive is because I thought you'd provide a little more entertainment. Since you don't anymore, I've decided to kill you."

Her eyes widen as I say this. She's about to say something, but I cut her off.

"Don't worry. I'll give you a chance. We're going to play a little game that I like to call 'hunt'. You play as the prey, and I play as the hunter. Now, I'm going to soon set you lose outside. After about 5 minutes, I'm going to go after you. If you evade me and make it out of the forest, you're aloud to go free. But if I capture you, you die. Sound fair?"

She shakes her head wildly, letting out a whimper as tears bubble in her eyes. I smirk. That's the expression I find so entertaining.

I chuckle. "Sorry, my dear," I lean down, inching my lips close to her ear. "But you don't have a choice."

*Time Skip*

Everything was prepared. I had given her a little regular food and water, just to make it a little more fun. I knew it wouldn't be hard to find and kill her though.

After untying her, I grab her arm, hauling her up. I walk to the door and open it. "Alright, I'll be out in about five minutes. You better get as far away as you can. Wouldn't want have a bad time, now would you?~"

As soon as I let her arm go, she immediately sprints as hard as she can away. I chuckle in amusement as she runs in a straight line. People are so predictable.

After about five minutes, I grab my gun and slowly jog in the direction she had went in. I didn't want to rush into it, mostly because I knew there was no way she could escape the forest. It was 20 miles wide and long. Plus, we were the only ones in the entire forest. I made sure of that.

I continue to jog, picking up on all of her mistakes. It looked like an elephant had stomped through the forest. Honestly, you'd think people would be more careful in life-threatening situations.

Finally, after about half an hour, I spot her. She was leaning up against a tree, panting. I almost want to laugh. We were barely 5 miles away from the cabin and she was already that tired?

I slowly creep toward her, making sure to be extra stealthy. She wasn't really paying attention, so that made my job even easier. Soon I was right in front of her. I readied two of my knives, one for each hand.

3...2...1!

She lets out a shrill scream as I jump out of the bushes, stabbing one of her hands into the tree. I then grab the other, stabbing that one into the tree as well.

She screams in pain, trying to free herself. I chuckle and lick a little blood off my hand. "Caught you~"

"N-NO!" She screams as I start to inch closer, readying the gun. "MOM!! DAD!! DEAN!!!" She screams, as if they can hear her. I decide to humor her and wait for a second.

We wait.
And we wait.

But nobody came.

I shake my head and chuckle, placing the gun back on my shoulder. I sing a soft tune as she starts to cry harder.

'Goodnight sweet melody
May we meet again
Hush now sweet melody
May this your final end

Sleep tight sweet melody
May I dry all your tears
Goodbye sweet melody
May they fall like all your years.'

I look into her eyes one more time before I pull the trigger. Then-

Red. That's all there is. Red.

I smile as red paints the trees. Red paints the grass, the leaves. Red paints the sky, the clouds. Red paints all over me.

I stand there, basking in the moment for a second before walking over to her corpse. I pluck the knives out of her hands and pick her up, carrying her to the hole I had dug up previously.

Dean's body was already in there as I threw her in too. I grab the gasoline I had hid behind a tree, then pour it all over them. I then grab the match box from my pocket and light one, throwing it onto the pile.

The fire grows and spreads, reaching for the sky. I watch as it eats the bodies of my two victims, eventually leaving only bone.

After the fire had burnt everything, I pile the dirt into the hole, burying the two.

I finger the trophies I had taken from the two. Two promise rings that they had given each other. I wonder if they knew promises never lasted. Especially the one Emily made Sean.

I get back to the cabin, clean it up, then lock the door and leave it. I headed to the rental place to give the keys back. After that, I just sat in my car,

Wondering why it didn't feel as amazing as I thought it would.

Sean POV

I rock back and forth in my bed, sobbing uncontrollably. I couldn't take all the guilt, all the dread. It was driving me mad!

Those girls have lives... They have a future... And I'm destroying it!

I'm sick! I'm disgusting! I'm horrible! I'M A MONSTER!

I sit up and punch the wall in anger. I bury my face in my hands, trying to control myself. I couldn't though. I couldn't!

As I was sobbing, something caught my eye. It was my knife. The knife I had used to torture the girls. The knife I still use even now. I had cleaned it off, so now it was shining in the moonlight, tempting me.

Without thinking, I reach over and grab it, yanking my sleeve up.

*TRIGGER WARNING!*

Tears spill faster out of my eyes and my hand starts to shake. I couldn't stop myself though. I deserve this. I deserve this. I deserve this. I deserve this. I deserve this.

I
Deserve
This.

I press the knife to my wrist, making a small, long cut. It wasn't deep though, because I was scared.

I kept cutting, feeling a sensation fill me with each line.

Freak *cut* mistake *cut* MONSTER *cut*

Soon, they were all up and down my arm, each one deeper then last.

I was about to continue, but suddenly a hand reached over and ripped the knife out of my grasp. I gasp and look up.

There, standing over me, was Mark.
