Konoha's Golden Rose

Chapter 1

{Time skip to seven years after Naruto left.}

"No, please don't leave me Shinnõ-sensei." Pleaded a crying Naruto as he held onto his teacher's hand as if it would turn to dust. "I-it's my time kid, can't heal age." Said Shinnõ with a smile as he laid on his death bed with his legacy beside him. Naruto shook his head side to side, "I'll find a way, you aren't allowed to die you old goat." Naruto said with tears running down his face.

Shinnõ hit Naruto on the head with his other hand. "Just 'cause I'm dying doesn't mean you can mouth off brat. I'll still kick your ass any day." Naruto just laughed lightly at his sensei, Naruto looked up to see his sensei's eyes closed with a peaceful smile on his face. Naruto exploded into tears as he realized his sensei had left the world of the living.

Naruto's aguished cries were heard across the small village. His voice coupled with the howling wind and the pouring rain dominated all other sounds in the mountains. Naruto carried his sensei to the top of the mountain and buried him there, his grave looked over the whole of the forrest below.

As Naruto stared at the grave with the sun falling before him, his eyes changed. Their usual bright blue changed into the third stage of the sharingan. They then changed into a rose, with blood red petals and a black outline. Naruto charged most of his chakra into his lungs and gave a pained shout that seemed to reach the heavens. Naruto gave a shuttered breath and fell to his knees as the sky turned pink with the setting sun.

Naruto stood there and used an earth Jutsu to make a perfect statue of the man buried there. The statue of the man was smiling and had his hand out. Naruto remembered when he was offered that hand to help him out of the hospital bed. Naruto smiled back and turned on his heel, Shinnõ's sleevless cloak, headband, and shoulder cape on his body.

Naruto's hair had grown, it covered most of his forehead, it was slightly tamed. His whiskers had deepened very faintly. To any girl who was single, Naruto was now a target of. Naruto went to the small cottage in the village and slept.

When Naruto woke up, he began his trek towards Konoha with one person on his mind. His pseudo little brother, Sasuke. Naruto had heard about the Uchiha massacre and it's only survivor. To say he was relieved when he heard Sasuke was alive was an understatement.

Naruto walked through the forrest with a skip in his step. Sasuke walked to the academy with his thoughts on how to kill Itachi. His hand subconsciously going to the necklace, in his opinion, his one and only brother had given him. His thoughts switched to Naruto's words when he left 'make friends while I'm gone'.

Sasuke sighed with that thought, it's not like he didn't try. People were just too annoying to be worth an Uchiha's friendship. Well that's how his dad would have put it, Sasuke just found them too nosy about what he liked or his dreams. When Sasuke entered the classroom he heard people talking.

"Did you hear about that legendary doctor guy who died a couple days ago. They say he and his students saved the Kazekage's daughter." Sasuke drowned out the noise and brooded out the window.

Naruto walked towards the gates and smiled, Izumo and Kotetsu called out to the stranger. "Hey, name and business." Naruto took off his hood and gave a smile that seemed to ease the two jounin. "Hello, my name is Naruto Uzumaki. I used to live here, I'd like to see Hokage-sama." Naruto said respectfully.

Izumo stayed behind as Kotetsu led Naruto to the Hokage tower. Upon arrival at the door to the Hokage's office, Naruto knocked on the door after Kotetsu left. "Come in." Said a tired voice from behind the door. Naruto walked into the room and said two words. "I'm home."

Sarutobi shot up and hugged the blond, Naruto gladly returned the hug. "Naruto, it's good to see you." Said the Hokage after he broke the hug and returned to behind his desk. Naruto nodded, "i have a request Hokage-sama. I'd like to skip this for now, and go see Sasuke at the academy and take the academy graduation test."
