Danielle finished having shower faster than she thought. She, now, sat anxiously on her couch, waiting for Beth to come. She watched the news with her mum but she couldn't focus her mind to the reporter with a bright pink lipstick and weird choice of foundation. In a normal circumstance, she would have a comment about the way the reporter looked and made sarcastic joke about it nonstop that her mum would have to shut her up with a flying pillow. But this time, she was really silent and she kept looking at the clock, counting how many minutes left to five o'clock sharp.

"Who are you going with?" Francesca, her mum, suddenly asked. She noticed how anxious her daughter was and decided to ask, thinking that maybe she could help Danielle to feel better, even a little bit.

"Beth."

"Then, why are you so nervous?"

"I'm not nervous. I just can't wait to meet Mr. Dante." Danielle lied. She didn't want her mum to find out that she's nervous about going out with Craig. She realized that she couldn't make up a good lie when she was nervous because no one that's alive would want to see Mr. Dante without any specific reason.

Mr. Dante was a 70-something-year-old eccentric man who owned the night market. He was nice to little children but he tend to become the kind of man that young teenagers bullied during their night out. Danielle actually liked Mr. Dante. He was nice and he never forgot Danielle. It had been happening since Danielle was six years old. Mr. Dante lost his present for his late wife and Danielle was the only who helped him looked for it in the darkness, with a little bit of help from the flashlight. Since then, he always offered Danielle a tidy little package of candies and sweets, for Danielle only.

"I can't figure out whether it's a lie or the truth." Francesca said as she put one of her legs on top of another.

Danielle shrugged. "Both."

All of the sudden, a car honked in front of her house. Danielle smiled and stood up. "There they are!"

Danielle walked outside with her mum followed her behind. They approached Jeremy's car as Beth opened her window and waved at Francesca. "Hello, Mrs. Morrison!"

"Hello, Beth!" Francesca looked inside the car and she spotted Craig was sitting at the back. "I didn't know Craig was coming with you." Francesca whispered to Danielle. Danielle looked at her mum and she was sure that Francesca gave her a wink.

"Mum!" she whispered back. Francesca laughed a little and gave Danielle a wave.

"I love you, sweetheart."

"Love you too, mum." Danielle waved at her mum awkwardly and climbed into the car.

"See you, Mrs. Morrison!" Beth said and Francesca also waved at her. And without further due, the car started to roll away.

Jeremy was driving the car with Beth on the passenger's seat. Craig sat down behind Jeremy and Danielle had to seat beside Craig. She knew it was Beth's plan, but she could feel a sudden spark of joy.

"You look great," Craig complimented. Danielle smiled. She knew she didn't pick the wrong outfit. She wore a black plain t-shirt, black skinny jeans, and a pair of black boots with a navy blue jacket that matched her outfit. She also put on a smoky dark look for her eyes with burgundy red for her lipstick and a messy bun updo. She really liked the way she looked and she was glad that Craig liked it too.

"Thanks. I just put on a quick make-up because someone made a spontaneous trip." Danielle said as she manipulated the fact. It took her almost forever to make her make-up perfect and flawless. She intended to offend Beth, whose respond was only a little laugh.
