Liam Imagine for Elin

You’re on the phone with your best friend Liam Payne. He’s excited about a new song he and the other boys of One Direction have recorded. Apparently it’s called “Little Things” and is going to be released in a few days.

"I could sing some of it to you now, if you’d like." He says quietly.

"I’d love that. Do you trust me to keep the song a secret?" You joke.

"Of course." He laughs nervously.

"Are you okay Liam?"

He pauses for a moment and you check the phone to make sure you haven’t accidentally hung up. Why was he being this quiet?

"I’m fine. Just a bit nervous. I haven’t sung this song to anyone."

"You. Nervous? Impossible!" You giggle and you can tell he’s smiling. "We’re close Liam. You can trust and tell me anything. You don’t need to feel nervous."

He takes a deep breath and you hear the sound of a guitar playing.

"I know you’ve never loved the crinkles by your eyes when you smile. You’ve never loved your stomach or your thighs. The dimples in your back at the bottom of your spine, but I’ll love them endlessly. I won’t let these little things slip out of my mouth. But if I do, it’s you, oh it’s you they add up to. I’m in love with you and all these little things."

Tears form in your eyes. You feel as if this song relates to you. But I guess all songs are like that.

"Well what do you think?" He asks after a moment.

"It’s…"

"Elin are you crying?" You can tell he’s concerned.

You half-laugh as you wipe away the tears with the back of your hand. “Yeah. It’s just that it seems so…. relevant to me. It reminds me of how I feel.”

"I know. Can I tell you something?"

"Anything."

"When I first read the lyrics of the song I knew that these were the words I was meant to sing. And do you know why?"

"Why?" You whisper. Your heart starts pounding faster.

"Because when I read them, I thought of you. And I figure this is the easiest way to tell you."

"Tell you." You repeat. "Tell me what?"

"That you are beautiful. That I will love every part of you endlessly. That, that I’m in love with you."

You don’t say anything. Instead silent tears run down your face. Oh, how you want him to be with you. To tell you face to face. To hug and kiss you and surround you with his warmth.

"Elin, Elin are you there?"

"And all my little things." You say breathlessly.

"Yes, exactly."

"Can I confide to you about something?" You say as you bite your lip.

"Anything."

"I’m in love with you too."

"You don’t know how long I’ve waited to hear you say that." Liam replies.

After the release of “Little Things” Liam flew back to be with you. He greeted you with dozens of roses in his hands. You had your first date that day which ended with a perfect kiss.
