****Hello again, I mean to update sooner but I never have time to actually type it out, I do have it written down if that's any consolation, but probably not seeing as none of you can read it.
this chapter is kind of a filler, but it holds some info that may be important later ;) the action will follow.
well if you're reading please let me know, because I'm thinking I might take it down and quit writing
thinking dramatically today. Please COMMENT, VOTE, AND FAN*****
My temper has never been this bad, but this man was probably the most hate evoking man I've ever met in my entire life. I was hoping my careful mask was still in place otherwise our cover would long ago have been blown to smithereens.
"She is my wifes and the Huntsmans. I could care less about her than any of the other women I've met over the years."
I had a feeling he'd gotten close to many, maybe even in this cottage. I shook my head. I had to think like I usually did with the crazies.
" Half up front, half when it's done. All transferred into a bank account this will be our last face to face meeting. You need me , you will call this number. I had to dig for a pen and paper on the desk but after sloppily writing the number to a prepaid phone I gave it to him. I was sweating bullets as he looked me over.
Finally he smiled and said " they said they'd send the best, Earnest wasn't so sure when he found out the best they had was you, but I believe you can handle it as long as I don't surprise you with hidden maidens in the basement." He shook my hand and I wanted to gag. I just wanted him gone now so I replied to his next sentenance with "Yes sir," not even thinking about what he'd just said.
Finally he left and as soon as I saw tailights vanish into darkness and scouted out the area to make sure he wasn't coming back on foot, I ran into the house, drew all the blinds and opened all the doors. Finally I came back to Kristens door, where Marc was still laying I hurried trying to unlock it and because of that I fumbled a bit. She was sitting by the foot of the door and I almost hit her with it when It swung open. I don't know when it happened but when she looked up at me her eyes rimmed with tears I slid down to my knees and just held her there while she cried her heart out on my shoulder and I held her close and comforted her.
when she had cried herself to sleep I picked her up in my arms and laid her on the bed, but I couldn't bring myself to leave her and so she slept curled in my arms, my mate. I never thought I would find her and just when I did fate decided to complicate it even more. Normally most mates recognize the other if they are among the same species, but because she is a witch and I a dragon it doesn't exactly work the same. Also normally they immediately fall in love and are inseparable. As far as I know a dragon and a witch being mates had never happened before and it didn't seem to be the case here. I didn't want to push her, but at the same time my dragon was yearning to claim his mate. I decided that starting tomorrow we would take it slower, I didn't want her to push away from me especially if I started moving too fast. This whole mate thing was new to us and I needed to give us both time to adjust to it, get to know each other more, and come up with a solid plan.
I couldn't sleep well but not becuase of Kristen but because of everything that had happened within 24 hours. Finally utter exhaustion had won out and I closed my eyes and snuggled closer. I barely registered Marc trying to sneak his way onto the bed by our feet, but I didn't have the energy to tell him to get back down.
When I awoke the next morning I breathed in the sweet scent of Kristen, but it was an hour old scent, I woke up in an instant, completely alert. The numerous possibilities running through my head all of which I rulled out because Marc would have woken me. I sat up trying to clear my head of the groggy effects of a good nights sleep. I finally heard noises down the hall in the kitchen, something seemed to be cooking. I walked in that direction and as soon as I got to the hallway I smelt the wonderful aroma of bacon, making my stomach announce my presence.
