It was about ten o'clock at night when we finally landed in Sydney - only it wasn't. The time's nine hours ahead in Australia, so it was about seven in the morning and broad daylight. We ate some breakfast in the airport, all of us practically asleep on our feet after our long flight. I knew I was going to spend all day in bed.
There's one good bit about this move. Because of the money, we can do whatever we fancy. It's inbelievable! So our whole family has come with us, and we're going to live in the huge mansion mum and dad bought. Uncle George and Auntie Karen, both sets of grandparents and, best of all, my two cousins. So me and Jasmine got to stay together, that was something. She was really excited about this move, even though she'd ha to leave all her friends too. I wish I could be as confident as her about all this.
Anyway, as soon as me and Jasmine got out of the taxi at our new home, all my brothers and sisters began to argue over who was sleeping where. The five of us can never do anything without fighting. But today I just stood there beside Jasmine, staring at our new house. It was enormous! Just about the same size as a hotel! Well, ok, maybe a tiny bit smaller, but not much!___________________________
When we got inside we discovered it had six floors! Six! That's including an attic and a cellar, but still! There was the cellar underneath the house for storage - and safety, if there was ever any extreme weather, and then on the next floor was a huge reception area with two massive crystal chandeliers and an elegant red carpet, as well as some black leather sofas and chairs. Off to the side of the reception hall was a huge dining room with a table that sat twenty and a small kitchen beside it. Through a door on the other side was an indoor pool (there was one outside too!) I couldn't believe this! It was like a movie, like a fairy tale! It couldn't actually be happening to me!
Apparently it could. I was lead upstairs for a tour of the lounges and party areas, with a flat screen TV the size of a cinema screen! I still couldn't take it all in!
The next two floors are our beautiful bedroom suites. I actually thought I was dreaming when I walked into my room. My room is right beside Jasmine's and her room is pretty much the same as mine. Double bed with deep red sheets, cream carpet, red walls patterned with swirly black flowers and a big, round, fluffy black rug in the middle of the floor. But the best bit was, my old wardrobe was against one wall filled with all my art stuff, while a new, shiny, black wardrobe was on the opposite wall, crammed with all my new clothes.
I don't blame you if you don't believe a word I've said about my new house. I can scarcely believe it myself.___________________________
