After the video was over, Dan retreated to his bedroom where he laid down face first on his bed. His door was wide open, Phil noticed this right away. It was an odd sight for him, normally Dan's door would be closed shut, hiding him away from the world, hiding him away from the one heart that would love him forever. Phil often questioned if they would ever get better... If things would ever be the way, they once were. When they both loved each other unconditionally.

Phil knocked on the door frame. Dan didn't move. He walked into the room. He stood there for a moment before he began to talk to.

"Dan, are you alright?"
No response.
"What's wrong?"

Nothing.

"Daniel Howell if you don't say something I will touch your neck."

Continuous silence.

He hates me. I know he does. How could he love a mess like this? Dan thought. Why is he in here? Why is he asking if I'm okay? He doesn't care. He shouldn't care.

Dan heard footsteps that were slowly getting closer to him. Then, the mattress shifted and there was a warmth he was all too familiar with next to him. "Dan, please talk to me." Phil's deep voice rang through him, feeling every hatred and worry with happiness and memories. That feeling went away just as fast as it came.

"I-I don't know, Phil. On camera, I put on a mask, I make it seem like I'm perfectly fine, but I'm dying inside. I love you Phil, but I wonder how you can love me. I'm a mess. I don't know why the queen doesn't have be executed for utter horribleness." Dan said, he was rambling, he knew he was rambling.

Phil took Dan into his arms, he pulled his bear close and started to pet his hair. "Dan, Dan darling, it's alright. Please, just close your eyes, and let me help you."

Dan melted into Phil's embrace. "Alright." He said and closed his eye, trying to relax himself. Dan took deep breaths; he was slowly calming down. It wasn't until that moment that he realized that there were tears that were dampening his face. Phil's thumb was wiping them off of his face.

"Why are you doing this?" Dan asked, opening his eyes once more, to look at Phil as he answered.

"Because you deserve it, bear. You're falling apart and it's my job to put you back together."

"That's not true, Phil. You should be bettering yourself. You should go film a video, you should go find someone better than me. You should."

"Shh..." Phil whispered. "Go to sleep, Dan. I'll be here in the morning." Phil stroked Dan's hair which was slowly getting curlier.

Dan closed his eyes and listened to the sound of Phil's breathing. He focused on the way Phil was holding him. He cherished this moment as if it was the very last time he would ever see Phil.

Dan and Phil would never be the same... They both knew that.
