Paisley's POV
I walked on the old dirt path leading up to the waterfall. I would always know when I was coming close to it because I could smell the fresh water. I could hear it and feel the breeze of the water on my skin giving me goosebumps.
I loved to sit up there and watch families come and go. They would jump off the waterfall into the deep, deep water. I would watch there eyes filled with fear as they jumped. But when they reached the icy cold water and came back up, they always had the biggest smile on there face.I finally reached the spot I always sit at. I laid my head back on the rock. I looked around and didn't see anyone. This place is usually so packed but today there is no one here. It actually is quite soothing. Just me,myself and I listening to the waterfall.
My eyes are getting really tired. I keep feeling them droop but I would catch them and open my eyes back up. Finally I felt them close.
"Hey!" I jumped up as I heard a voice in my ear shake me.
"Jesus you scared me." I looked up at the boy. He had brown hair that was in a perfect quiff. His sparkling eyes shone through me.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you." He smirked and sat down next to me.
"It's getting dark. You should go home." I nodded and stood up. I stretched out my arms and yawned.
"Thanks." He nodded and watched me as I picked up my bag.
"It's no problem. I just didn't want you to be out here alone and some creep come and take you. Say, what's a beautiful girl like you doing out here all alone anyway." I blushed and looked up at him.
"Oh you know. Getting away from things. It's peaceful out here, It's like my own little getaway." He nodded and put out his hand. I did the same and shook it.
"I'm Shawn, Shawn Mendes." I smiled and let go.
"I'm Paisley. Paisley Scott." He smiled back.
"Your a beautiful girl Ms.Scott. I must say we need to meet up again." I smiled and nodded.
"Yes we shall." We started laughing at how cliche we were being. We exchanged numbers and walked back to the lot together.
"I'll see you again sometime, correct? I nodded.
"Correct." He smiled and walked to his car as I did mine. As soon as I opened my door I heard my name being called.
I turned and saw Shawn."Yes?" I let out a silent chuckle.
"Keep smiling." I laughed and rolled my eyes.
"I'll try." He smiled and winked at me.
I got in my car and drive home.Shawn's POV
As I watched as paisley drove away. I couldn't get her off my mind. She was genuine and had a funny personality.
She was beautiful but I don't think she realizes she is.I drove off on my way back to my house. As I pulled in the driveway I saw my moms car but not my dads. He was probably off somewhere getting drunk with some chick he just met that doesn't realize he is going to get with her and do whatever she wants to him and then never see him again. I felt bad for my mom though. She tries to leave but he won't let her. He breaks things around the house and sometimes gets a little violent and punchy towards my mom but I end up being there to stop it.
I walked into the house and the smell of cookies filled the room. It smelled great. I walked into the kitchen and saw my little sister Aaliyah with my mom Karen, decorating cookies.
"Whatcha doing?" I sat down at the island waiting for a response.
"Making cookies for a boy. "
"Oh for a boy eh?" He nodded and smirked.
"What's his name?"
"Alex?" I smirked.I giggled and grabbed a cookie and ate it. My sister was baking cookies. I know she is 9 but still. She doesn't need a man.
"Shawn stop! Those are for Alex!" She grabbed the cookie out of my hand.
"Shawn, those are your sisters. Don't do that again." I nodded and rolled my eyes.
"I'll be in my room." I ran up the stairs and laid down on my bed. I plugged in my earbuds and soon fell asleep.
