Paisley's POV
I woke up and looked over at Shawn sleeping on my bed. I took in his features. His dark brown hair that usually has a quiff in it but is now flat. His lips plump except for it being busted. His soft breaths soothed me.
I don't believe that Shawn got "jumped". It doesn't make sense. People around where I live don't just do that. I feel like there is more of a story behind it. Or maybe he is telling me the truth. Whatever it is, I hope I find out.
I watched his eyes as they soon fluttered open. He smiled at me and shook his head.
"I could feel you staring at me." My cheeks got hot.
"I-I wasn't I just I-"
"Paisley it's okay." He scoffed and licked his lips. I nodded and put my head down."Your lip looks better." He felt it and winced.
"It doesn't feel better." I rolled my eyes and sat next to him.
"Maybe if you didn't touch it, it wouldn't hurt."
"Someone is getting a little sassy." I huffed and laid down to where I wasn't facing him.
"Don't be mad." I smiled and I covered may face up with a blanket.
"I'm not." I felt his arm wrap around me and scoot me closer to him. I relaxed but turned around to look at him. Is this weird? We only have known each other for a few days. There is just something about him though.
"What happened last night?" He scrunched his eyebrows together.
"W-what do you mean? I-I told you already." I shrugged.
"I mean you were just really jumpy last night. I mean I know you got jumped but something just doesn't seem right. No one has ever done that around here."
"Well it did happen." He clenched his jaw and I decided to just back off.
"I need to go." He had anger in his voice. Why is he acting like this?
"Uhm O-okay." He walked over to me and hugged me. I soon felt better.
"Thanks for everything." I nodded and squeezed him tightly.
"Your welcome." I kissed his cheek and he turned around and left, leaving me with my thoughts.
Shawn's POV
I had to go pick up Aaliyah. I got in the car driving to the house across the street from mine. I was dreading to go back. Susan is Aaliyah's babysitter for whenever I am busy or my mom is. She is also known as my Ex-girlfriend. She is sweet and she is pretty but let me be honest with you. She is a player. Big Time. And Me? I was a victim who was messed up in my own little world not realizing what was happening behind my back. She flirts with me but I hate it so much.
I parked on the street in front of my house and walked up to Susan's door. I lightly knocked on it.
No answer.
I knocked again.
No answer.
I banged on the door as loud as I could.
No answer.I peeked through the windows and saw Susan walking to the door. About damn time.
She opened the door and peeked her head out.
"Im here to pick up My sister." She gave me a Stern look. Why did she look at me like that?
"Susan where Is She?" I said through gritted teeth.
She just lowered her head."I'm going to ask you one more time Susan. WHERE IS MY SISTER!" I yelled causing her too jump.
"They took her away..." She whispered.
