Paisleys POV
We pulled up to the parking lot at the waterfall.
"And, we are here." I turned to him and gave him a smirk. He smiled and got out of the car. He came over to my side and opened the door for me.
"Thank you." He nodded.
"You are very welcome." He grabbed a basket out of the back seat. Im assuming it's filled with food.
We started walking up the trail trying to find a place to eat. Shawn grabbed my hand and intertwined out fingers together. It wasn't the 'romantic' type. It was the 'Come on I think I just found the perfect spot' type.We sat down and Shawn opened the basket. He got out sandwiches, chips and drinks.
"So are you from here?" I nodded and took a bite of my sandwich.
"Always have and probably always will. What about you? Have you always lived in Toronto?" He nodded back.
"And we have never met." I giggled and took a sip of my water.
"Do you have any siblings. You know besides your brother?" I nodded and put down my water.
"Yea my older brother Mark is twenty three but he lives in New York for college. We were always close. My little brother Brandon is thirteen, the one you met today." I rolled my eyes. Shawn smiled, he had a beautiful smile. It could lighten up anybody's day no matter what mood you're in.
"What about you? Do you have any siblings?" He shook his head up and down.
"Yea I have a nine year sister, Aaliyah, But that's it."
"Do your parents live together?" I saw him hesitate to answer. He paused.
"It's okay forget I asked that." He looked up at me and shrugged.
"No-no it's fine. It's just complicated. Do yours?" I sighed and nodded.
"Yea but they don't even act like it. My dad and I aren't really close. To be honest I'm not that close with my mom either. They are all too busy with work to even notice me and my brother."
"Yea. I know how it feels. Well I guess my mom and I are close. Just not with my dad." I nodded. I started to get full and I couldn't eat anymore.
"That lunch was really good." He smiled and bowed.
"Thank you, thank you. I tried my best." I smiled. He picked up our stuff and put it in the basket.
I laid back on the blanket using my arm to support me.
"So are you in college?" I heard Shawn asked as he came next to me and laid the same position.
"Yea. I go for Pediatric nursing. But right now I'm just taking regular college classes and then I will go to medical school. Are you?" He shook his head.
"No my parents can't afford it. I try to save up, but I have to spend it on other things."
"How old are you?" I asked Shawn and he smirked.
"Seventeen how about you?"
"Sixteen turning seventeen in two months." I held out two fingers and he laughed.
"I see." I nodded.
"When is your birthday?"
"August 8th. When is yours?" I smirked.
"August 12th dang we are close." He grinned and turned towards me.
"Your a really nice girl Paisley. A lot of people in my life honestly don't stick around as long as you do." I laughed.
"I've only known you for like two days." He shrugged.
"Exactly." I just brushed that off and watched people jump off the cliff into the water.
"Wanna swim?" I looked at him with wide eyes.
"I have no bathing suit!" He just rolled his eyes.
"Do you have your bra and underwear on." I nodded and huffed.
"Then strip it." I hesitated.
"What are you gonna do?" He looked at me and grinned.
"I came prepared." He slid down his sweatpants revealing swim trunks which he could've told me to bring a bathing suit but I'm pretty sure he planned it just to see me in my bra and underwear.
"Your turn." I rolled my eyes and lifted up my shirt. I then slid down my shorts. Shawn was eyeing me the whole time.
"Happy Now?" He nodded and grabbed my hand.
"Let's go!" He dragged me to the water. I stopped him before he ran in. I dipped my toe in the water to feel it's temperature. It was like bath water.
I ran in and fell. As I came back up I saw Shawn laughing at me and I just smirked."That wasn't funny." I let out a giggle and he shrugged.
"Why are you laughing then." I gave him a shrug back.
"Wanna go jump off the waterfall." I glared at him crossed my arms.
"Uh. Um I-I don't k-know." He poked out his bottom lip and I rolled my eyes.
"Please it'll be so fun." I nodded.
"O-okay." He clapped his hands and grabbed my arm. He led me up to the top of the waterfall. I looked down, and let me just say it looked so much smaller on the ground than up here.
"Are you sure we should do this." He nodded.
"I'm positive. You ready?" I grabbed his hand and gripped on to it tighter.
"No.""We will do it at the same time and I can hold your hand the whole way down." I looked down one more time.
"Okay.""Alright. One, Two, Three." I felt my feet lift off the ground. Next thing I knew my body smacked into the water.
I came back up and watched Shawn as he flipped his hair."Holy crap! THAT.WAS.AWESOME!" I laughed and looked at Shawn. He had a huge smile on his face. I gave him a bigger smile back.
"You have a beautiful smile paisley." I felt my cheeks get hot.
"Thanks Shawny. You do too."
"You gave me a nickname! We have officially made it to the best friend zone." I raised one of my eyebrows and giggled.
"Just because I called you 'Shawny' were are "Best friends"." He shrugged and nodded.
I started swimming back to shore. I heard Shawn behind me.
"Here I brought towels." He handed me one and I dried of my hair and put it around me.
"You know Shawn. I never really had a best friend before. I mean I did but she moved when I was like thirteen and then the rest of my high school year I didn't really have anyone." He smiled.
"You know I never really had close friends either. They always turned on me and um.." I gestured for him to go ahead.
"What?" He rubbed the back of his neck.
"They just didn't like hanging out with me. My parents fight a lot." I nodded.
"I like hanging out with you. You're sweet, funny and cute." He laughed and looked back at me.
"Thanks paisley." I just shook my head.
"For what?"
"Listening. No one has done that for me in a while." I smiled and stood up.
"Anytime Mendes." I helped him up.
"Thank you. This day was fun." I said in a low voice.
"Anytime. Ready to go?" I nodded and we walked back to his car.
