Paisley's POV
My eyes fluttered open and I looked around. Realizing I was in my room.
Last night was fun. Shawn took me to dinner and we talked a lot about our lives and just, it was a normal conversation.I rolled off my bed groaning. I hopped in the shower. Letting the warm water roll across my body. Relaxing every muscle.
I got out and put a little make up on and then I got dressed. My hair is naturally wavy and long. Not trying to brag but I love it. I brushed my teeth lastly.
I ran downstairs and surprisingly everybody was eating at the dining room table. I sat down quietly looking at all of the food set at the table. It was quiet.
"Paisley why were you gone so late last night?" I started putting food on my plate.
"I was with my friend Shawn. I met him the other day." My mom nodded.
"What were you doing with this boy?" I shrugged.
"We just went to dinner and talked. Then he brought me home." She sighed and put her napkin in her lap.
"Why?" She looked at me with a fierce look.
"I was just wondering. Can't a mother ask her daughter where she has been with a lousy boy." My mouth dropped.
"Do not call him lousy! He is nothing but a sweet, thoughtful and caring person! You don't even know him-"
"Julia you need to let her have some privacy. She was with a boy! Not all boys are what you imagine in your head!" My dad is finally sticking up for me. My moms mouth was about to open. Great now she is going to butt in.
"Chris how is it not hard to think of men or boys that way when you have spent so many years living with them! Just leave already!" My brother put his head down.
"I'm always the bad guy aren't I? Forget it I'm done with you!" Tears swelled my eyes.
"Everybody just stop!" I yelled. They all looked at me.
"I'm not moving to New York with you dad. And I'm not living with you wherever you're going mom. I know about the divorce. I heard you talking the other night. Just get it over with already! I'm sick and tired of the fighting. I'm done of having to keep the house straight and my brother well fed because you two work all of the time! I'm done." I got up and ran outside slamming the door behind me.
I got in my car and drove as fast as I could to somewhere that's not here. I was crying which they say you shouldn't cry and drive. But oh well.
I saw a figure walking on the side of the rode. He looked Oddly familiar. I rolled down the window.
"Shawn?" He looked up at me with his eyes red and puffy. He was crying?
"Get in now!" He didn't do what I said. Instead, he started running. I parked the car on the side of the rode and chased after him.
"Shawn stop!" I didn't realize how far I had gone till I realized we were at the freakin waterfall. The kid is fast.
"Shawn!" I finally caught up to him and nearly tackled him to the ground.
He was sobbing hard."Shhhh Shawn, it's okay I'm here." I put his head in my arms and rubbed my fingers through his hair.
"Paisley I-I I'm not the kind of person who you think I am. My l-life is m-messed up and my family is-"
"Shawn. Stop, just relax." His breathing slowed down and I wiped his tears away with my thumbs.
"Shawn you can tell me anything." I whispered staring into his eyes.
"Please tell me what's wrong." He sat back and sighed.
"I can't. I'm afraid too." I shook my head.
"What are you so afraid of?"
"Losing someone I love." A tear fell from my eyes. He wiped it away with his thumb.
"Your too precious to cry." I let out a slight smile. I felt us both leaning in towards each other. Closer, closer and closer until our lips finally touched. His lips moulded perfectly with mine. Moving in sync with each other with every movement. Until Shawn pulled away.
"No. I c-can't. Y-you are gonna leave me. " I gave him a confused look.
"Why would I ever leave you? Stop saying that." He laid back on the grass and so did I.
"My dad was always verbally abusive to my mom. And sometimes physically. B-but the other night, I didn't get jumped. I-I beat my dad for beating my mom." A tear fell out of his eye so I wiped it away. Balancing my head with one arm.
"Paisley I beat him so hard. M-my mom was screaming for me too stop but I was just so mad that I couldn't." I watched him as he bawled up his fist.
"The police came, they pulled me off of him. I looked down and he was Knocked out cold. And then Before I went to go see you. I took my Sister to her babysitters across the street. The next day I went to go pick her up and she told me they took my Sister and put her in a child care facility so she can have someone to watch over him. My mom was put in a safe house. And my dad is in prison." I laid my head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat.
"How come you can't take care of your sister." I felt his breathing hitch. I looked up at him. His eyes were full of anger, hurt and most importantly, guilt.
"Because when I was around fifteen I wasn't the perfect little goody-goody teenager you would want to have. I got into trouble. I hung out with the wrong people. I did things I will always regret. I made stupid mistakes that I can't take back! They won't let me take her because of my past." I sat up and so did he.
"Paise I'm so scared I'm never going to see them again." I sighed not knowing what to say.
"This is the part where you leave me." I shook my head.
"Why do you keep saying that. I'm not going anywhere!" I grabbed his hand and played with his fingers.
"Because every time I tell someone, or they experience or see how screwed up my life is they leave. Everyone that I love seems to always leave me." I leaned in and kissed his lips.
"Does it look like I'm gonna leave you?" He smiled and kissed my forehead.
"Thank you Paisley." I just smiled.
"Your welcome. Oh and thats a no by the way." He smirked and I stood up and put my hand out for him too take it.
He grabbed it and I helped him up. He stared into my eyes and he just smiled.
"What?" He smiled even bigger. His smile could light up the whole world.
"I'm just..." I giggled at his nervousness to what was about to come out of his mouth.
"Just what?" He smiled.
"Lucky to have a wonderful person like you in my life." He bent down and his lips skimmed mine until they touched.
I let go and buried my head into his chest."I went off on my parents today." I sighed.
"What did they say?""They didn't have the time too reply I walked out. And then I ended up here." He nodded.
"I'm sorry. Let's go!" He pulled me to the road to walk back to the car.
"To where?" I asked curiously out of breath.
"To see your parents!" My jaw dropped.
"Are you stupid? You are not meeting my parents. They'll fight-"
"Who cares. I'm used to it!" I sighed and then nodded.
"Fine but they are probably pissed at me." He chuckled.
"Yea. I'm sure." He said sarcastically.
We pulled off of the side of the road. I'm shaking I'm so nervous. What will my parents say? Will they think bad of him?
