Deep breath.

"Hey Jas", I say quietly.

"It is you! I haven't seen you since I left the team"

Flashback
"Alright. Thank you to all the parents that supported this awesome season we had. I appreciate all the sacrifices you made to improve your daughters game play. This is a small step in their basketball career but we made so much progress and have fun with it. I hope I see all of you back next summer. Thank you for coming to our season ending party. Drive safely home", coach said while saying his finally farewells.

I was walking around the backyard of my teammates house. I saw her. Looking beautiful as ever. I've been crushing on her ever since the season started but I never made a move. She screamed straight so I just became friends with her. I wanted to know more about her. I found out she was only I year younger than me and I'm 15, but my gut-feeling was right. She was straight.

Ok D get out of your head and go talk to her.

My feet starting moving towards her. She was talking to some of the teammates.

"Hey Jas. You coming back next summer?"

"Um. I don't think so. I want to focus on softball and cheering. I wish I could just watch you guys play but my mom won't take me.", she replied.

"Oh. Um. Ok. Well. I'll miss you. Hotel rooms won't be the same anymore without you"

"Jas!!!!", her mom called.

"I'll miss you too. Come visit me sometime. But I have to go. Here's my number. Text me sometime ok. Bye D."

She handed me her number and hugged me. Oh my gosh this hug feeling way too right. And as quickly as she gave me a hug is as quick as she left. I didn't even say bye back. I was too filled up with emotions and I was utterly speechless that I just got her number without asking for it. You guys are just friends! My mind screamed to me.
Back to reality

"Oh. Um. Yea. It's been a minute huh?"

"Yes it has. What you been up too. We fell of with the texting."

"Yea. We kinda have but I haven't been really doing much. I started college today."

"Oh yea. You did graduate huh. But if you got time. Do you want to sit down."

I check the time. I got a little over a hour until I have to go to work. I agreed. We grabbed our food and sat down.

Damn she grew up and got blessed. She was looking so beautiful. Jeans that fit her just right and hugged every curve. A simple shirt and shoes that match. Her beauty is natural and I love it. I was too lost in thought to hear her calling my name.

"You deaf? What you thinking about?"

Well damn. "Uh. I'm just thinking about this one class I'm taking. I don't think I'll like it. The professor is slow as a snail and I know I'm gonna fail if I don't read in the book"

"Oh. Ok. So can I tell you something?"

I nodded my head.

"So me and this girl have been dating for a couple of months and I think she's cheating. What do you think I should do?"

Since when in the hell did she started dating females. I really did miss a lot. I might have a chance if I play it cool. "Well, what's her name?"

"Um. It's Blue."

"Blue?! From west side. You gotta be kidding right?"

"No. I'm not. I think I love her. That's why I haven't said anything about it yet. This suspicion has been going on for 3 weeks."

I tensed up when I heard 'I love her'. I swore I heard my heart break a little.
