"I'm hungry.", Jas yelled.

We haven't been on the road for long but it's been a minute before the both of us ate.

"Alright. We'll go to Cane's how does that sound?"

"Fucking perfect."

It was quiet between us again. Bryson Tiller was playing. Every now and then I could hear her sing a part of a song. Sadly, it stayed that way until we reached our destination 10 minutes later. We both got out. I made sure I had my wallet just in case I need to pay for her. I walked ahead of her so I could open the door like that true 'gentleman' I am. I let her order first. She was about to hand the cashier a 10 but I beat her to it and added my order to the bill. Jas looked at me and smiled while walking off to find us a seat. I grabbed our food and followed behind her. We sat down next to each other, grabbed what we ordered, and started eating.

5 minutes into eating our food I would catch her looking at me. That meant she wanted to say something so I finally said, "spill it", without looking up from my food

She looked down. "I just want to say sorry..."

I looked up at her in confusion. "For what? You didn't do anything."

"Yes I did. This day with you could have been better if I listened to you."

"It's fine. I shouldn't have said what I did. You don't understand the half of it...", I could feel my shyness and nervousness rise within me. Shit D. Pull it together. You're in a good position with her.

"The half of what?"

Fuck! What do it say. Please don't let me mess this up. I was about to tell her the honest truth until her phone buzzed. Great. If it's her I'm a blow up. I looked over and behold it was Blue. I rolled my eyes and ate some more of my food. I heard her snack her lips but she didn't reply.

"Do I need to hold your phone and so you won't be urged to text her?"

"No..."

"She's not the one for you", I said under my breath.

"What'd you say?"

You're going to have to tell her everything one day. I took a deep breath to calm my raging feelings of anger and lust. "I said she's not the one for you."

"Why do you say that?"

"Because she pisses you off more than she makes you happy. I've watched you give in to her in more ways than I would like to but every time you let her in she hurts you. I meant every word in the car. I don't know why I makes me mad when I see you talking to her. Maybe because I'm jealous...but I've known you for years not in one of those years have I seen you this miserable..." I put my head down. I didn't want to look in her face knowing that I've crossed the line. "Sorry. I didn't mean to be rude...", I said with my head still down. Before i said something else I ate more food.

She didn't say anything at first. Out of the corner of my eye I could see her eat her food quietly."You're right, but let's talk about something else."

We started talking about what her plans were when she graduates, her friends that were tripping, recent parties we went to, relationships that we've been through. Before we knew it we were laughing like we never had a little argument.

I started to get full so I looked at the time. We've been out for almost 3 hours. "Do I have to take you home?"

"Um yea I guess."

"Well you ready?"

"Uh sure. Just let me get a refill on my drink.

She got up from the table. As she was walking, I watched her hips away from left to right. I was hypnotized by the mesmerizing movements that captivated every fiber of my being. In other words I was drooling over that 'ass'. Before I could gather myself from my 'thirsty' moment, she was back in my face.

"You ok?  You look a little thirsty?"

Oh I'm thirsty all right. "Yeah. I'm fine. You ready?"

"Yep."

I cleaned up the rest of our mess and we left. It was quiet at first. But in that quietness I had the sudden urge to be bold with my feelings for her.

"I got a question for you Jas."

"What's up?"

"Why do you give Blue so many chances and not the people that actually care about you?"

She face scrunched up in confusion. "What do you mean the people that actually care about me?"

"Well....uh. People like me..."

I looked over. I couldn't read her. Confusion was written on her face but her eyes didn't match. There was a mixture of sadness, anger, fear, disappointment, and...lust in them.
