Lagoon Boy swam through the cool,crystal clear water, around the marble columns and past the coral reefs. Hi, La'gaan. He turned around to see M'gann behind him, in her mermaid form. Glad your leg's all healed. A huge smile came onto his face as he looked at her. Angelfish! You're here! He swam towards her and threw his arms around her.

I...came to pick you up., she told him. Bring you back to the surface world. He smiled. That's so sweet. I was just gonna Zeta back tomorrow. He dove in to kiss her, but she pushed his face away. I thought we could use the trip as an opportunity, to...talk. He frowned watching her swim off. To talk? That's...great.

"This...isn't going well.", M'gann sighed. "I'm sorry." La'gaan turned his chair around to face her. "You're sorry? I'm the one getting dumped." "La'gaan, try to understand.", she pleaded. "All those weeks in captivity gave me time to think. T-To gain clarity. I know now, I haven't been fair to you." He narrowed his eyes. "Shouldn't I get to decide that?"

"You don't see it yet.", she explained, standing up and walking over to him. "But the hard truth of the matter is, we only got together because, you made me feel better about myself." She took his hand. "And that's not a relationship. That's selfishness." "That's just how it started, Angelfish!", he begged. "What matters is, what it might become." She shook her head. "Except we'll never be any more to each other than, what we are right now."

He took his hand back. "Neptune's Beard! This is about Conner, isn't it?!" She closed her eyes. "No. It isn't about him. Or you. Its about me." She walked back to her seat. "I can't give you what you want. To be something other than my rebound guy. You deserve more than that." He glared at her before turning his chair back around. "You're right, M'gann. I do." She glanced at him sadly.

"Great news, Team! Nightwing out!" He ended the transmission just as Miss Martian and Lagoon Boy arrived in the warehouse. "What's great news?" "The Team freed Blue Beetle and Green Beetle from Reach control!", he told her proudly. "Terrific.", La'gaan said in a deadpan tone as he went up the stairs. "If you need me, I'm watching TV." M'gann watched him go as she walked over to Nightwing.

"Yeesh! What's with him?" She hung her head. "We broke up. I ended it on the way home." He turned sharply towards her. "You did?" She nodded meekly. He stared at her for a moment. "It wouldn't have had something to do with Superboy, now, would it?" Her head snapped back up. "No! Of course not! This was between me and La'gaan!" He nodded and turned back to his programming.

She found herself staring at her feet. "Although...it was nice to see Conner again on Manta's ship." Nightwing looked back at her. "And...touching his skin did give me butterflies in my stomach." She smoothed down her short ginger hair. "And whenever he looked at me...I could feel my heart beat faster...as I thought of all the wonderful times we had together." A light pink blush crept onto her cheeks as she closed her eyes, picturing her beloved Conner.

Nightwing smirked. "Okay, Blushing Beauty. I'll believe you didn't break it off with La'gaan 'cause of Conner." She was snapped back to reality. She sighed. "I don't know what to do, Dick. Should I tell Conner how I feel? After the way I treated him, he probably hates me. He'll never want to get back together." He put a hand on her shoulder. "Or worse...what if he does?" "Huh?" "What if he still loves you, and you never find out? Which is worse?"

She thought over what he said. Which is worse? Telling him how I feel, only to have him reject me? Or him still being in love with me, and never finding out because I was too scared to ask him?

Sorry this is so short. I didn't see much change for this episode. But I promise, the next two will be longer and fluffier! Stay tuned! I do not own YJ or DC.
