I couldn't wrap my head around why it was so chillingly cold in the room. It was covert, an seemingly ominous and lonely darkness. It felt open, but enclosed as my back rested against something. Because I could not see, the mystery of the dark seemed frighteningly endless. The room seemed far from filled with life.

My heart felt like it had a large hole in it. There was no feeling, it was just cold and empty like the rest of me. Maybe I was dead, though if I was I couldn't fathom how I'd died. I couldn't bring a thought to how and if it happened. In fact, my head felt empty like my heart. It was like everything was striped away from me.

"What's a ray of light like you doing here? Are you lost miss?" A perplexing man came out of the shadows.

I could barely see his face as he crouched down in front of me. His face was very defined and his eyes appeared to glimmer. I feel back from a sitting position to my hands and backed up slightly. The wall that had held me up had suddenly disappeared? Perhaps this is a dream? After all i've never seen this man before. Something with this man already had me rattled. Like I could sense a dangerous energy around him.

"No need to be frightened. My friends and I are only here to help you." He spoke calmly, but that clearly seemed like a lie.

"W...where's here?" I asked curiously, my voice was horse and unfamiliar to my ears.

It seemed like it'd been a while since I'd spoke, and I didn't recognize the soft resonance now leaving my throat.

"A very dangerous place, with many dangerous creatures. If you'll follow us, we can protect you." He smiled kindly and reached out a hand to touch me.

Suddenly more men walked into my sight. They also gave out a sketchy energy that seemed to cause a chill over me.

"Why would I follow a stranger?" I narrowed my eyes at the man.

He seemed slightly irritated as he answered, "And I suppose you'd rather sit alone in the dark?"

"Who knows what dangerous creatures lurk in the dark." One of the men grinned.

The suspicious man grabbed my hand. Suddenly the brisk cold I had felt before had turned into a blistering heat resulting from his hand.

"No...let go!" I yelled trying to yank my arm away from his strong grasp.

A sudden burst of light pushed the man and his friends away. I covered my eyes with one arm, shielding them from the blinding light. The light seemed just as dangerous as the men. When it dispersed I slowly lowered my arm. The room looked shattered. It was no longer pitch black, but had cracks in it letting in a picture of what could be outside. Strange colors and objects I couldn't make out. The room was much larger than I'd perceived, I couldn't really tell as small bits of light seeped in illuminating the men in front of me. Or...I thought they were men.

Their bodies were surrounded with what appeared to be a red fire. They had ears and tails, but not that of common animals. Their eyes were glowing as they cast a ominous aura.

"M-monsters!" I was shaking slightly as my eyes glued onto the changed creatures.

Once appearing to be human, now some sort of being that would closer resemble a demon.

"Well, now that wasn't very nice of you young lady. Now I'm going to have to punish you." The man smirked.

What were they planning to do to me?! I jumped onto my feet stumbling slightly as I ran down what I suspected was some sort of hallway. Or at least kept running hoping not to run into a wall. Just attempting not to feel trapped again.
