I was shaking like a leaf. Had he really asked me to work with them on City of Ashes? Well, as an extra anyway. But why had he asked me? There's literally millions of people they could've asked. "What are you gonna do?" Zara asked, making tea. I shrugged. Aimee laughed and I scowled at her. "What should I do?" I asked glancing at them both. They shrugged as well. "Make a list of pros and cons," Aimee suggested, grabbing a pen and some paper. She made two columns: Pros and Cons. "Pro: You get too see Jamie more often. Con: There's gonna be a ton of people around you two all the time," Aimee said, writing furiously. "Pro: Maybe you'll really hit it off with Jamie and end up in a relationship with him," Zara said winking at me. I stood up. "I can't do this. I'm going to shower and then bed. I need to clear my head," I told them, sighing. They looked at each other and then at me. I knew they were thinking the same thing, I just didn't know what.

I walked into work the next morning. My mind was clearly not on the job. "Hello beautiful," A voice chimed. I looked up from my drawing. "Hello. Do you want the usual?" I asked reaching for a cup. God dammit. One day I wanted too see him, the next I didn't. I'd need to sort that out. "Of course I do. And I want to know if you're gonna take me up on that offer?" He replied leaning against the counter. I could smell his after shave even though I was no where near him. "Um well, I'll let you know at lunch," I said winking at him as I handed him his cup. He cringed. "About that.... I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to make lunch. Could we do dinner instead?" He asked, rubbing the back of his neck. I sighed. "Yeah sure," I replied forcing a smile. I was such a pushover sometimes. He grinned and leant across the counter, kissing my cheek. "See you at 8," he said walking out the door. Good one Laura, he's just going to walk ALL OVER you, I thought serving the next customer. I could be such an idiot sometimes, but I was going to do anything to be with him because he was all I'd wanted for so long.

"LAURA! He's just going to walk all over you if you keep letting him do this to you!" Aimee exclaimed when I'd finished filling them in on my day. I sighed. "You think I don't know that. I've spent the whole day thinking about that. I just want to give him a chance," I spat back. She rolled her eyes. Zara sighed. "Guys, clam down. Aimee, it's Laura's decision. And Laura, she's just looking out for you. We're just looking out for you," Zara said. She was right. I hated when she was right about these things. "I'm going to get ready," I said walking out of the longue. I could hear them whispering, but I really didn't care. I was only worried about how tonight was going to go. I put on the only dress I owned and a pair of flats. How on earth I'd been a beauty guru on youtube for this long and only owned one dress was beyond me. Vidcon starts tomorrow. Shit, I thought too myself. I'd totally forgotten about that. I'd just have to cut my date a little short tonight. "Laura, Jamie's here!" Aimee called from the longue. I sighed, grabbing my bag. I wasn't really prepared for this.
We arrived at Café Pinot and on our way too the restaurant we'd met three of his fans and six of my subscribers. I still found it odd that subscribers came up to me on the street every now and then. We took our seats and stared at the menu. Everything was so expensive here. We decided to skip the appetizers since I needed to get home early. If I was being honest, there really wasn't anything on the menu that I ate. I ordered the Stripe Bass and he ordered the Tenderloin. He tried to make small conversation but I was kind of distracted. I'd never been to this side of LA before. I wasn't sure I wanted to come back either. Everything was so fancy and so expensive. "Have you made a decision?" He asked as we ate. I put my knife and fork down and sighed. "That's what I wanted to talk to you about. I'm a bit uncertain of the details and I'd still need to work." He'd stopped eating now as well. "You'll get paid for all the work you do. And if you'd feel better about if Aimee and Zara were working with you, I'm sure we have jobs for them," he said sounding reassuring. I looked away from him. "I don't wanna make you feel like you have to get them jobs too. I mean Zara's meant to be leaving again next week and Aimee has a job too," I'd gone back to eating my dinner now. He watched me carefully. "I want them to work with you as well. I'll chat to some people tomorrow," he said still watching me. "Okay," I sighed, agreeing reluctantly. I still wasn't sure about this. We shared a desert and left.
He walked me to the door and we stood in silence for a few moments. "Please say you'll at least think about my offer? And that you'll talk to the other girls?" His forehead was pressed against mine. He was wearing the same aftershave from this morning, he smelt really good. "Yeah, okay," I sighed. He kissed me. "I'd better go. Thanks for a lovely night," I said reaching for the door handle. He grabbed my hand though. "Have fun at vidcon," he whispered before kissing me again. I blushed. "Thank you," I called as he walked down the corridor. I walked inside and wasn't surprised to find that Aimee and Zara had waited up for me. "How was it?" Aimee asked, pausing their movie. And now I had to tell them everything.
