Spread across the velvet sky,
Only for me, myself and I.
They twinkle, they glow so bright,
I would wait to see this every night.
Like a big sheet
Draped around the earth
These tiny dots,
Would gather at spots
Forming a constellation,
Leaving me staring at it in contemplation.
But I believe that the stars had more to say,
Look at it carefully, this beautiful display.
Do not live brief
And forget about the grief
Live life king size,
And seize it like it's a prize
Cause you only win it once,
Don't share it with those who don't deserve it,
Share it with those who would nurture it.
This is what the stars taught me tonight,
And they disappeared with the splash of sunlight.
I'll wait like I do every night.
For it to spread again across the velvet sky.
