A/n I just got this idea while writing a chapter for one of my stories so ay. Enjoy!

The last time Jace saw Clary, was in his own room. She'd come in to say good night, he assumed. Clary did have small flicker of sadness in her eyes as she talked to him. Choking down a cry, as she spoke the words.

"Good night, Jace. I love you."

Then she'd turned her back forcefully, away from Jace and his room and walked away.

Now, Jace was nervous as ever, and alert more than he should be. But still, paler, darker rings under his eyes showed signs of no sleep.

Everyone tried to calm Jace, but only one person could do that. But, she was gone. No one knows where she is. It's only been a week, but a week without Clary, is hell for Jace. Hell, for anyone who cares about Jace's well being.
-

One night, while  Jace was supposed to be asleep dreaming, he laid thoughtfully staring at the ceiling. He knew, sleep would never come to him until he knew she was safe.

Jace would not sit around waiting for the clave to find her. They don't know her. So he didn't.

Jace knew it had to be close to one am, but he didn't care. He threw on gear he had stashed away, in case he needed to do something fast. He put his stele in his pocket, and his knife too. Jace knew the possibilities, and even though what he is doing is reckless and stupid, he wasn't dumb.

Jace successfully slipped out of the institute with no one awaken, or knowing he was gone. He knew the first place to check. The place Clary goes if she only wants Jace to find her.
-
Usually, when Clary would run off to who knows where, Jace would let her be. But Jace couldn't do it. Something about this time, made Jace have to go after her.

There was a place Jace and Clary went once, and it became their own place. Jace glamoured it for Clary, so only she and Jace could find it.

Jace found it quickly. A abandoned café. He rushed inside, pushing the doors open hopefully.

It was dark, empty, and vacant. Jace let out a breath of frustration. He was so sure she would be here. What if she was gone forever-

Jace's eyes rested on the ladder. There was a small hole in the ceiling, and a ladder that goes through it. Of course, Clary would be up there. Jace felt a slight feeling of hope, as he moved over to the ladder, and climbed up it.

Jace stood on the flat roof of the café, seeing that it overlooked the city streets. Most lights and signs were burned out, darkness seemed to swallow the city whole. After Jace was done admiring the neighborhood, he looked around the roof.

Surely, his eyes rested on red hair that only belonged to Clary. Jace breathed for the first time, this week. Jace only walked over to her. She had her legs dangled over the edge, as she sat looking at nothing. Jace sat next to her, staring at her. Clary sat very still, looking directly in front of her, tension in her shoulders, unmoving body.

Jace wasted no time. No time for hellos or talking. He no longer cared if he seemed selfish or greedy for this. Jace rested a hand on Clary's shoulder hesitantly, before grabbing a hold of her waist, pulling her onto his lap. Jace did not hesitate to move one hand to Clary's face. Bringing his face toward hers so eagerly, lips touched softly at first, then deeper and with a slightly less gentleness, always faintly there, and emotions were felt through the hungry kiss. Once it was over, Clary looked at Jace with expectation.

"I-I'm sorry. I just couldn't. I couldn't wait for you. Clary, I just I couldn't breath. I love you too much, I can't lose you. I can't. I can-" Clary cut him off.

Clary hugged Jace as tightly as she could allow herself too. She listened to his quickened heart beats. It became normal as it could to her. The air suddenly was quickened too, they were falling. Clary closed her eyes, waiting for the fall, to be gone. Instead, she found two arms around her, clutching her legs and waist, while she buried her arms and head into Jace's chest.

They landed on the ground with barely a sound, except Jace's feet.
"If you thought I'd let you die...". Jace choked on his own words.

He set her down, looking at her shaken figure. It still shook her up, no matter how much she trained.

"Jace. You're my hero, please don't leave me." Clary breathed  out.

Tears stained her  cheeks, unknowingly. Jace stepped forward, whipping them from her face. He looked down at her.

"Never." He whispered to Clary like a ghost in the wind.
