Zoe POV

*10 weeks (2 and a bit months) pregnant*

I open my heavy eyes and peel off the duvet cover. For a few seconds I enjoy the quiet and peacefulness of the moment, that is until I realised what day it was.

"ALFIE! GET UP RIGHT NOW WE HAVE TO GO!" A still half asleep Alfie rolls over to face me, "Why are you shouting little one?" He clearly couldn't remember what we were doing today either. "Alf, we have a doctor's appointment in twenty minutes we get to find out the gender today!!!" As soon as the words had left my mouth Alfie shot out of bed and was fully dressed before I knew it. The five minutes before we had to leave were HECTIC. I couldn't find my phone, and Alfie had to answer hundreds of phone calls from friends and family wishing us good luck and demanding to know the gender as soon as we found out.

Finally, we were ready.

In the car on the way to the hospital Alfie and I both couldn't hold in our excitement, we talked the whole way there about what it would be like to have a girl and what it would be like to have a boy. The prospect of being able to dress up and look after a little girl got me so excited and the prospect of Alfie being able to teach a little son how to play football also got him so very excited. I knew I would be over the moon with either gender.

When we arrived at the hospital we were greeted by the same receptionist who we saw the day we found out for certain we were pregnant. We were lead down the very same corridor where again I saw the woman who was heavily pregnant, but this time she was holding a beautiful little girl. Doctor Dan told us to come into his office and instructed me to lie on the bed and Alfie to stand by me, the very same thing he did the first time we were here.

"So, today we will be able to find out the gender of your baby if you would like to know." The big grin on Dan's face made us both smirk. Alfie and I nodded at the same time, eyes wide, Dan said we reminded him of those funny Churchill bobble heads. The gel was squirted on to my stomach and I gripped Alfie's hand tight with excitement, I could see him wincing at how hard I was holding his hand and we both laughed.

"So... That looks like a little girl! Actually it looks like two little girls!"

Oh. My. God. I started hyperventilating.

"In fact... That looks like two little girls and a little boy! Congratulations you're having triplets!"

Alfie and I both broke down in tears at the word "triplets". I never imagined we would be having two babies let alone three!

Alfie POV

The second we got home we phoned EVERYONE and revealed the huge news. We decided to go out into Brighton centre and buy some baby clothes seeing as now we knew the gender and could buy gender appropriate clothes. Zoe told me I could pick three outfits for our baby boy, and she would pick three matching outfits for our baby girls.

We spent hours trailing around our favourite baby shops until we had picked out our favourite outfits and decided to surprise each other with them.

Upon showing each other the outfits we found it very funny because we had both picked out outfits that were similar to clothes of our own; Zoe had picked a cute multi-coloured polka dot dress, and two adorable baby onesies and I picked some cute baby sweatpants a blue T-shirt and two baby onesies.

We returned home and spent the rest of the day cuddled close under a quilt watching Netflix.

Could this day have been any better? Who could have guessed that in 10 short weeks everything would change?
