Korra got down on one knee, her head dropping. "And I hereby name you the Leader of the Benders Mafia," Tenzin tapped a staff on each of Korra's shoulders, and finally on her head. "Code name: Amir," he finished. Korra raised her head, facing the large crowd. "Do the Benders Mafia accept Avatar Korra, who moved up through our organized ranks, to be your leader?" Multiple hands, all with four fingers in the air, rose. Korra stood up, being accepted. She held her hands out as Tenzin gave her the staff, bowing. It was all the colors of the elements, white, blue, green, and red.
Korra walked to the podium to her right. "I, Amir, thank the Benders Mafia for choosing me to be the new Leader. I also thank Tenzin, who has taught me to fight with pride, humility, and my bending. I will rule with an iron fist, and will stay calm through all specialties. With the roar of Air, Water, Earth, and Fire, we will stand alongside Raava. We are the Acts of Nature!"
"The Benders Mafia!" Everybody else finished with her, raising up four fingers, and putting their right hand over their hearts in a 'C' shape. This resembled the four elements, and the force of their hearts coming together as one. Korra spotted Mako and Bolin in the crowd. They smiled, and she gave them a small nod. The newest members.
Everybody disbanded to their jobs as Korra bowed to the large group. Then Tenzin showed her to her office, which was pretty big. He left her to get use to the large area, and get settled in. That was one year ago.
"Amir!" Korra looked up suddenly, hearing her assigned name. Asami, who was sitting in a chair next to Korra, also looked up.
"What?"
"The body that was found in the fire-"
"Stop!" Korra busted upright, slamming her hands on her desk. Fire came out underneath them. "Asami, please leave the room," Kora said, slightly turning her head to the taller girl.
"Don't go too hard on him," Asami put her hand on Korra's shoulder, and Korra nodded at her.
When Asami left the room, Korra motioned to the chair in front of her desk, sitting down in her own. "I had to get her out of the room, while we're talking about the fire," Korra explained, and the man sat down.
He slid the folder he was holding across the desk to Korra. It had pictures and further police reports in it. "The body they found," the man said. "It was a woman."
Then Korra remembered something. "I don't remember Asami's mother dying when I was there, and Mako and Bolin never told me about the her death," Korra said, mostly to herself.
"They ran tests, and our cams caught who the tests said it was," he said.
"I can guess," Korra said.
"Yasuko Sato," he said.
Korra stated silent, but the door didn't. "No!"
Korra stood, opening the door for Asami. The man walked out as Asami walked in to the room, tears streaming down her face. "Asami, it's oka-"
"No it's not! How long have you known?"
"I found out when you did. Can't you remember when I was kicked out of your mansion? How young we were? I was never aware of when or if your mother died!"
Asami stayed silent, tears still streaming down her face. She looked at her feet, and Korra stepped closer to her. "I'm sorry," Asami said, wrapping her arms around Korra's neck.
"I am too. I shouldn't have went off like that, especially to you," Korra said, hugging the taller girl.
"Amir!" A woman outside the door said.
