The Day Before

What am I going to do?! I don't even know what I want and I have no idea what to get Chat.
Marinette sighed and looked at the clock. It read 12:48 AM.

It's already tomorrow. I have one more day to think about this and I still have no-

Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock on her bedroom door. She lifted her head up out of her hands and stared at it for a second, and when the knocks didn't repeat, she became curious. She walked to the door and cracked it a little to see who it was, but finds no one there. She froze as she heard the knocks again and realized that they came from the door to her roof.

Who would be on my roof so late at-

Oh.

Marinette walked slowly towards the stairs that lead outside and then quickly ran back to her desk to cover the sketches she had made for Chat's present. She then walked back up the stairs and peaked outside.

Chat popped up in front of her causing her to almost falls backwards, but Chat caught her by the wrist and steadied her, smirking.

"Careful," he said, letting go of her hand and walking down the stairs into her room. She was once again grateful for the darkness that made the many posters of Adrien almost invisible. "Now, have you thought of a present yet? Did you check the Ladyblog like you said?" He looked at her expectantly.

"Um... Well you see, Chat... With school and other things I was doing I didn't really get a chance to work on it so..." She half frowned and look up at him shyly, honestly feeling bad about it.

"Oh..." He looks a little disappointed, but brightens up in a matter of seconds. "Well that's fine, we have all of tomorrow-- er, today I guess-- to work on it. No need to stress yourself out about it. In fact, I can even help you out now, if you want." He smiled at her reassuringly.

Marinette thought for a second, wondering if that would be a good idea if an Akuma came along. She decided it couldn't hurt, and she could always run away to 'hide' again.

"Yeah, sure. Why not? I wasn't planning on doing anything else at the moment, you know, besides sleeping." He smiled sheepishly and she smiled jokingly back. She went to get the extra stool out of her closet and set it next to her dresser where she had been sketching before.

"You can sit here and we can figure out what to get Ladybug tonight, and I'll work on it all day tomorrow."

He tilted his head to one side. "What about school?" He cleared his throat. "I mean surely you have school..."

Her eyes widened like she'd forgotten, and then she sighed. "Don't worry about it, I'll have time... I'll make time."

Then they both sat down at her desk and she opened up the notebook to an empty page. "Now, what do you know about her? What do you think she'd like?"

He pondered that for a minute and sighed. "How about you start and I'll keep thinking. You did ask your friend for help, didn't you?"

She laughed somewhat nervously. "Of course. You know, the other day Alya actually got an interview with her. She told me all about it."

"Oh really? What did she say?" Chat asked curiously.

"Well, she couldn't exactly tell me everything because she didn't want to... To give it all away before she posted it on the Ladyblog." Marinette smiled in relief, thankful for her quick thinking.

"Oh okay, well did she say anything that could help?" Chat looked at her hopefully.

"Yeah I think she said that Ladybug likes..." Think! What do I want??
