The Prince & The Maid

Part 4

-Chapter 10-

Princess Evangeline walked down the halls. Too easy she thought smiling. She walked over to her room to write to her friend. She walked in and saw Lily sweeping.

"Hey." She said sitting down at her desk.

Lily stayed quiet and continued sweeping.

"I said hey." She said turning to face her.

Lily made a face at her, "Hey." She said.

Princess Evangline rolled her eyes. She grabbed a piece of paper and a pen to write a letter to her friend, Scarlett. Lily swept silently next to her to see what she was writing. Princess Evangeline didn't notice Lily standing next to her, so she started writing.

Dear Scarlett,

This couldn't get any easier! The Prince is in the palm of my hand. At first he was seeing someone so I needed to get her out of the picture. So I made it look as if Prince Will was making the first move, and just to my luck a Maid was watching and she told all her other Maids about it. Oh! Did I mention the girl he was seeing was a Maid?

Anyways, she now thinks Prince Will and I are a thing, so she is backing off. She doesn't want to be with Prince Will now and he is devasted. I was there when he was upset, so I was comforting him. I think he may like me now, but we'll take it one step at a time.

Lily backed up so Princess Evangeline didn't see her starring. She looked down and continued sweeping. Princess Evangeline turned around.

"Can you mail this for me?" She said handing Lily a sealed envelope. 

Lily nodded. "Of course, is that all?" 

"Yep. You don't have to sweep anymore, I would like to be alone right now." She said laying down on her bed. Lily nodded and carried the broom to the door. She held onto the broom tight, her face red with anger. If Princess Evangeline wants to play that game, so be it. Lily walked to Valentina's room.

Lily walked in, "Hi." She said upset.

"What's wrong?" Valentina asked.

"Let's see what our little Princess is up to." She said sitting on the edge of the bed.

Valentina sat next to her. "Whose letter is that?" 

"Princess Evangeline was writing to her friend. She asked me to go mail this, but I think you should see it." She said handing her the letter.

"Did you already see it?" She asked.

Lily nodded. 

She sighed and opened up the letter. She read the letter and was red with anger. 

"Told you, you needed to read it." Lily said.

"What is wrong with her!" She screamed.

"Calm down. What are you going to do?" 

"I don't know." She said.

"Well first off, I think you owe an apology to Will." She said looking down at the letter. 

Valentina nodded and got up. "Thanks." She said hugging her best friend.

"Whatbare best friends for?" 

Valentina walked through the Gardens, having a feeling Will was going to be there. He was sitting in a bench looking down at the floor. Valentina slowly approached him. He looked up, then looked back down.
