The Prince & The Maid

Part 3

-Chapter 7-

Princess Evangeline left Will's room. She was walking around the castle in hope of finding a girl Will might be intrested in. He would'nt have turned her down if there wasn't another girl involved. She got to the kitchen and stayed there for a few minutes. She heard two girls come in so she stayed against the wall. 

"So what's up with you and lover boy?" Lily asked. 

"Nothing really, but guess who's at the castle." 

"Who?" She asked.

"Who do you think? Its the wicked witch of the west." Valentina said.

"Oh, it's Princess Evangeline." She said with a sigh. Princess Evangeline was holding herself from barging in and yell at them. Who do they think they are to talk about me like this? She thought. 

"Well, do you think she is going to break you and Will up?" Lily asked.

"I don't know, and I don't want to."

"Well, I am the maid that has to serve her. So I'll get some details." She winked at Valentina. 

"You gotta keep your voice down, you don't want other maids to hear you." Valentina told Lily.

Princess Evangeline left the room, laughing with humor. A maid? She thought. Oh this will be easier than I thought. She walked away toward her room.

Princess Evangeline heard a knock on the door. "Come in," 

And with that Lily walked in.

"Hi, your Lily, right?" Princess Evangeline asked.

"Yeah." It seemed like Lily didn't want to talk. Princess Evangeline thought.

"How long have you been working here?" She asked.

"A year now."

"Have you made any friends?"

"Yes. I have a best friend here."

"And is she a maid? Would her name possibly be Valentina?"

Lily froze, she stopped sweeping and stared right into Princess Evangeline's eyes.

"Yes, but how would you know that? You just arrived today, if I'm not mistaken." She said. Woah, this girl isn't like other maids, she is not afraid to talk straight. Princess Evangeline thought.

"I hear things," Princess Evangeline said.

"Well, she has nothing to do with you, she isn't your maid, I am. So I don't know why you are thinking about her when she is just another maid. There are plenty of maids here, but I assume you don't know them, all you know is Valentina. I don't know what you're up to, but I'm just saying right now, you better stop, I am not afraid of Princesses, unlike other maids here."

Princess Evangeline stood there in shock.

"How do you think you can talk to me like this, I can fire you."

"Oh, I would love to see this! The King won't fire me because I am, as you can say, part of the family."

"How are you part of this family? Your just a maid."

"I might be a maid, but King Gregory treats his staff as if we were family, so go ahead and talk to him, but he would just turn you down. He cares about people, unlike some people." And Lily left the room.

Valentina was in her room when Lily stormed in. 

"I hate that girl!" Lily said.
