After All This Time?

Chapter One:

At the Salvatore Boarding House, all was quiet. Suddenly a crow flew in through the window and seconds later, stood a tall and handsome man. He walked towards the drinks cabinet and pulled out a bottle. The man, named Damon Salvatore, stalked towards his armchair and groaned.

"What are you doing?"

Damon kept his eyes closed and groaned again.

"Ugh, shut up, Stefan."

"It's not wise." Stefan tried again.

His phone rang and he didn't make any attempt to answer it, instead looking at his older brother disapprovingly.

"Get that, will you? It's giving me a headache." Damon said as he raised the bottle to his lips. "Today has not gone to plan and I intend to drink it away."

"Real mature, Damon." Stefan rolled his eyes as he cut the call off. "Something doesn't go your way and you just drink."

"Zip it, Mr high and mighty." Damon sneered.

Stefan opened his mouth to retort back when he stopped. Someone was outside. He waited until the doorbell rang. He sighed and walked over to open it. At the door stood a beautiful young woman.

"Er...hi. I'm here to see Damon Salvatore." The woman said.

"Damon?" Stefan frowned. "It's for you."

"Ugh." Damon made no attempt to get up. "Who the hell are you?" Damon asked as he swigged from the bottle. He had sped over. Stefan stood over his shoulder, staring at the woman.

"Your wife." The woman smiled.

SMASH.

The woman looked at the broken bottle at her feet. "Well, that went better than I expected."

"You're mistaken; I assure you my brother doesn't have a wife," Stefan said calmly.

"And that's not all." The woman opened her coat, revealing a bump.

Stefan was staring at her stomach.

"You're pregnant."

"Yes," the woman nodded and she looked at Damon. "She's yours, Damon. You're the father."

Damon looked dazed as he stared at the bump too.

"It's impossible," he whispered.

"Now, will you invite me in?"
