"Happy Birthday, Marinette!" Is what Mari woke to the very next morning. She nearly hit her mother in the face out of surprise. Her parent were standing around her holding a chocolate cake that read, 'Happy 17th Birthday, Mari'. That's right. She was seventeen now.... What with all of the romantic drama she'd failed to notice that she was almost old enough to live on her own.
Marinette had gotten home at around ten o'clock, and her parents hadn't even noticed. They were probably busy planning this. Mari smiled at them sleepily, still blinking the sleep out of her eyes.
Marinette's mom and dad had planned on sending her to the carnival with Alya, seeing as Marinette rarely went to fun things like that.
During school was torture. She hated when people made a big deal of her birthday. Alya always up-played the occasion. She'd made the entire school sing her the happy birthday song the second she entered the building.
Adrien had no idea about Marinette's birthday until the school was singing for her. He had to hand it to Alya; that girl could pull some strings. Why hadn't Mari told him? He would have given her gifts. Then Adrien saw the annoyed look on her face as people wished her a happy day. Did she not like having her birthday celebrated?
He thought about her for the rest of the day and realized, sadly, that he hadn't seen her as Chat for two whole days. With that thought, he was determined to give her an unforgettable birthday present.
After school Adrien had heard Alya mention how excited she was to visit the carnival, and He saw his chance. He decided to transform and follow the the girls, making sure to stay out of sight until Mari was alone.
Marinette has always hated going to carnivals. She hates the food, she hates the people, she hates the rides that make her sick to her stomach. The only redeeming quality was the fact that she got to see Alya have fun. Marinette loved seeing her best friend smile, especially if it was because of something she did.
An hour after sunset the girls were still at the carnival.
"Hey, Alya?" Marinette dreaded buying food, but she was starving.
"Yeah?"
"Could you get me something to eat?" She smiled sweetly, her voice convincing. Alya nodded and took off in the direction of a greasy looking food stand.
Mari wandered towards a vintage-looking arcade game with a ladybug on the sign that read, "Cats'n'Bugs!". She placed her hand on the controller and chuckled to herself.
Out of the shadows behind the old game a clawed hand stuck out and grabbed her. Before she could scream, the hand pulled her to a body that she recognized. Chat wrapped his hands around her waist and grinned. Marinette wanted to slap that satisfied look right off his face.
"You scared the shit out of me, Chat!" Mari huffed in frustration, banging a fist against his chest.
"I'm sorry, but I had to get to you somehow," Chat planted a long, slow kiss to her frowning lips. "Happy birthday, Princess." Marinette looked less annoyed, her eyes looking dreamily into his.
"Come on, let's go somewhere quiet." Chat took Marinette by the hand and lead her deeper into the shadows. They ended up stopping in a closed tent that sold stuffed animals. Marinette couldn't stand to have his lips from hers any longer. She pulled him to her, hungrily taking his lips again and again. She'd missed him in the two days he'd failed to visit her.
Chat was surprised by her roughness when she kissed him, then he kissed back with double her ferocity. Soon they ended up on the ground, Chat ending up on top. Marinette giggled when he paused from her lips to plant a kiss on the tip of her nose. Chat looked into her eyes, a question on the tip of his tongue.
Marinette's hand slid up to the place where Chats golden bell hid the zipper to his suit. With a sensual smile, she inched it down while Chat continued to kiss the hell out of her. His hands gripped her hips, then he unbuttoned her pants.
"Marinette?" Alya's voice came from the entrance of the closed shack.
"A-Alya!" Mari tried to stand instantly, but Chat's zipper caught on the button of her jacket, pulling her back down.
"So.... You're dating Chat Noir. Okay then. That's cool." Alya said awkwardly as she backed out of the shack. The brown-haired girl then turned and walked back to wherever she'd come from.
Mari let out a defeated moan and covered her face with her hands. Chat chuckled and worked on getting his zipper unhooked from Mari's jacket.
When they'd both composed themselves, Chat kissed his Princess farewell and melted into the night. Marinette decided it would be best to go explain herself to Alya.
After an hour of searching for her friend, Marinette gave up and walked home. This sudden alone time gave a chance for Mari to cool down, to think about things. She fiddled with the ring that rested above her heart, and a thought struck her.
