When ones heart is made from stone it can splinter and fracture over time.

This is because the heart is trying to protect itself.

When another person who's heart is warm and full of love comes around.

This warm hearted person can fall in love with the first stone hearted one.

As the warm heart brings the cold stone one close for an embrace.

This warms the stone heart, but alas.

Tragedy.

The icy splinters of the stone heart pierce the warm one.

As the warmth of love enters the stone heart it begins to change the splinters and fractures melt away.

But this new warmth doesn't last for long.

The guilt felt in the now heated heart quickly douses the flames of love.

For the very thought of hurting the one loved causes a far greater pain than simple impalement.

This quick dousing leaves the broken heart running trying to protect the one it loves.

Even as it runs left behind in the warm one are the shards of the brokenhearted.

Memories of the pain run deep in both hearts.

But which one forgets it first?

That part of this tragedy has yet to be discovered.

For both still remember the pain of loss and of guilt.
