I took a seat at the dining table. "So, Virginia, where are you from?" I smiled. "Sacramento, California." They all nodded. "Selena is from Dallas, Texas. Jake is a native Australian. Tony is from Scotland. Jai is from Poland. Rob is from Kansas City. Lastly, Austin is also a native Australian." I nodded and stuffed my last bit of soup in my mouth. I stood up and trashed my containers before dusting myself off. We all got up. I went to my bunk with Jake. "So, wanna invite the rest over?" I shrugged. He nodded and started calling people. I turned on Pandora as more people walked in. The stereo's surround sound worked well so we all started dancing along with the music. I sat up on my as a DJ when more people started to file in. I didn't recognize any of them. I got off my bunk as we all started to go outside. I slipped on my Chucks and walked out. On my way out, I bumped into a boy. "Oh I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed, trying to wipe the spilled soda on his shirt. "Haha. It's ok." I smiled and looked up into his eyes. His eyes were so blue and beautiful. He coughed and I snapped back to reality. "I'm Virginia." He nodded. "Luke." I nodded back. "How do you know Jake?" He called four other boys over, including Jake. "Guys, this is Virginia. Virginia this is Calum, Ashton, and Michael." I smiled and shook all their hands. "So again, how do you all know each other?" I cocked and eyebrow and they all laughed. "Well, Jake lived next door to Ashton, and he went to the same school as us three." He motioned to him, Calum, and Michael. "So he's a good friend of ours. I nodded. "Wanna dance?" Luke asked. I nodded and followed him to the dance floor. "I am try'na holla. Got that ink up on my colla. Drinkin' till it's nada. Isn't whiskey, I don't bother. My bitches ain't no dimes, they be motherfuckin' dollas. So we stack our drinks up high, sky-scrapin' till we taller. Ring Ring. Hit that up, show that universal love. If you bleed that red blood, dance until you get enough. Ring Ring. Hit that up, show that universal love. If you bleed that red blood, dance until you get enough." The song played through the speakers. I got lost into the dance so much that the next thing I realize, Luke's gone. I shake my head and make my way over to the boys. "Hi Luke. Can we talk?" He nods. "Um, I know this is kinda forward but would you like to go see that new movie tomorrow?" He stared at me for a while and I found myself getting more and more anxious. "No." "Phew. I thought you were gonna say- wait. What?" He shakes his head and walks away. "I'm sorry. I don't like you that way." I slump my shoulders and sigh before going back inside.
*After the Party*
"Yeah. It'll be ok babe. I have to go cause it's like 5 am over here. Bye." I nod and wave. She goes and I lay down on my pillow and think. Why doesn't he like me? What did I do wrong?
