Day 1-Week 1:
I write down in my notebook those two words and numbers, ready to record everything happening this summer. "Virginia, stop being all sappy about leaving and let's go!" I roll my eyes, walking over to the stage. "Okay, Austin and Virginia, you guys are doing the duet this week. It's pop to Classic by MKTO. Hurry up. Play it." Jake lifts his hands and walks off the stage. "Oh, girl you're shining like a 5th avenue diamond. And they don't make you like they used to, you're never going out of style." I smile towards Austin as we begin the dance moves slowly. "Baby, you're so classic." The song plays, as we switch places. "You guys are doing great!" I criss-cross my feet and go back, slapping hands with Austin and spinning back to my old spot.
I wipe my sweaty forehead and hug Austin. "Good job, I think we're ready." We all nod our heads and Selena starts her Acrobatic solo. It's been a few days and she's out of the hospital and ready to start again. I watch as she does her flips and contorts around to the song. When her solo was finished, I was careful when I helped her off the stage. "Virginia, you have a guest." Jai smirks, bringing out the e. "I will cut yo- hi Luke!" I smile his way, turning my head to face him. "Who were you going to cut?" He asks, cocking his head to the side. I laugh. "Jai. He's a dickhead." "No you are." "Go eat your pudding!" I say pointing towards the cafeteria. His ears perk up and he rushes over to the cafeteria.
"Do you wanna go to that new restaurant with me, just us?" Luke asks, taking my hand in his. I smile his way. "'Course, tall dude. I'd love to." He blushes at the nickname and looks down. "Love the piercing by the way." I smirk and he smiles. "Meet you at seven, I have to go." He walks away quickly, opening the doors and walking out of the gym. "Ah!" I hear from behind me. Shielding my ears, I turn to face Selena.
"He totally likes you, now we only have-"
"Sel-"
"Four hours, so that should be more than enough time to get you ready for this date. Let's go."
I roll my eyes and let her drag me out from the chair. Getting into her passenger seat, she starts the ignition. I slump back and put on Hollywood Undead. She turns the music down and looks up at me. "I swear to God, Virginia, you're a boy in a girl's body." I smile brightly, slipping on my Ray-Bans. "No, you're just a girly girl who hates fun." She sticks her tongue out at me and then continue looking onto the road.
Finally arriving at the mall, we continue out conversation as we walk through the doors. "Can I please get Hayley Williams hair?" I beg, sticking out my slightly trembling bottom lip. She sighs, "Fine. But I swear to God, you're going to look ugly as hell." I just skip towards the hair salon, ignoring her. I sit on the chair and wait for my stylist. "Virginia?" I look up and see Zach sitting there, beaming at me. He walks over. "Virginia, why are you in my mom's hair salon?" I look towards the sign. Indeed it does say Lisa Malone's Hair Salon. "I didn't know you're mom worked in Australia." He just shrugs and stalks off towards the back. Selena stares at him dreamily. "You like him!" I squeal, shaking her shoulders.
Now with my short brown hair, we head over to the Dress Bunch store. Little Me by Little Mix is playing as I swerve around the store, spinning around racks upon racks of dresses. "I like this one." I hold up a red dress to Selena and she nods and puts her thumb up. I walk over to the cash register, Selena joining me a few seconds later. We pay for the dress and walk over to Perfumania. After finishing shopping about two hours later, we walk out of the mall. "That was interesting," I begin as I take the bun from my hair. It was hot as hell in there. "Tell me about it, I almost died." Note to self: Never put heat on high if it's the same as the mall's. We pull out of our parking space and head off towards the highway.
*Two Hours Later*
I sigh as I open my eyes in front of my full body mirror. "You look great, Virginia." Jake compliments, circling me around a few times before a knock sounds at the door. "Luke." I smile and look at his dressed up self. He takes my hand in his. "Let's go, Virginia." I turn my head to hide the blush forming on my cheeks. "Thanks for asking me out, Luke." He nods and we walk into the back of a car. "Let's go, Jake." My eyes widen. Jake is out chauffeur. I laugh quietly to myself and look at the kid in the sailor's hat. Luke and I begin to have a conversation, with a few butt-ins from Jake.
"Welcome to your date." He takes his hands from my eyes and I gasps, looking around. The date begins to play. With the picnic, the music, it's overall a perfect date. 'You look nice." He says, pushing my hair behind my hair. "Nice Hayley Williams hair." I laugh and look into his blue eyes. Then he says something that surprises me to no end.
"V-Virginia, I think I like you."
