Anakah didn't care if the new house was on the beach or that her new school had a great art program. She didn't care that she would finally get her own room. She missed her old house and her old school. She missed her old life and no matter how much better her parents said her life would be she still wanted it back. She would trade anything to go home. Home. This place was not Anakah's home.
While her parents had shown Catie around the new house Anakah called her friends from back home. As she told them she missed them they answered in short replies seemingly uninterested in what she had to say. The conversation ended quickly and she was forced to head back to her new house.
When she opened the screen door and stepped inside she almost expected to walk into the same living room as always with the couch on the wall to her left and the piano to her right and the kitchen right ahead. Instead, the door opened up to a hall with sea green walls and stairs to her right. As the door slammed behind her she heard laughing coming from down the hallway.
She debated going to her family but decided instead to go up the stairs which lead to another hallway. There seemed to be two doors lining the hall on either side and she peaked inside the first one to her left. The door opened into what seemed to be a bedroom with a closet in the corner. The walls were pastel pink and there was a large window showing a view of the beach. In the middle of the room was Catie's travel bag and Anakah knew Catie had claimed the room as hers.
She moved on and opened the second door revealed a second bedroom with walls that were pastel yellow. In this room there is a bay window with the same beach view and a closet in the corner. The room was a bit smaller than the other but Anakah didn't mind. The space reminded her of home and she tried to remove the thought from her head.
She entered the room shutting the door behind her. Tossing her travel bag on the floor she plopped down next to it.
I just wanna go home she murmured before laid her head on her bag like a pillow and fell asleep.
