( 💜 Ayy this is the 40th chapter, I cannot believe how far I have come in this story even though for the past month I can barely get two updates out a week but you know what this week I plan on getting a few more out. I'm extremely proud of this story and how far it has come and I don't want it to stop growing because of my laziness so I'm about to buckle down and get the ball rolling. This is a chapter btw and not an authors note just thought I would put this here.)

* Four days later *
Carl's Pov

          I never did tell Ron what happened at Mikey's because I didn't want to, I knew Ron would probably kill him.  I am not going to shun Mikey because I understand he is probably not in a great state of mind.  I still am not going to run to his house and hang out with him, that'll take some time. But I cannot make anymore people turn on him, he needs to find his place in this community.
         Me and Ron decided we would go over the wall today and hang out in the woods for a little bit. Even though the last time we went over we were caught by savior's and almost murdered, I still want to go out there and taste the fresh air.  Ron was skeptical but agreed to it.  It was probably around 12 o'clock and I only wanted to be out there for about an or two.

* One hour later *
         Me and Ron were walking out of the gate after grabbing two guns and making sure they were loaded, just incase a walker decides to show up.  When the gate opened and I got the smell of the trees and the forest it felt amazing in a way.   We walked out and heard the gate close behind us, as soon as it closed I grabbed Ron's hand and began leading him to where I wanted to go today.

"Why are you in such a hurry, your about to pull my arm off babe." I heard Ron say behind me as I dragged him through the woods.

"I'm not in a hurry I just wanna get their faster since I won't be out here that long." I said then continued on with his hand still in mine, and me dragging him.

      I heard a loud groan from behind me and smirked a little since I knew he was tired of me dragging him around. When we finally got there I realized how perfect of a day it was to be out here.  It was this one open area in the crowded forest where a log lay perfectly fallen over and behind it a hollow tree. There were also enough tree tops swaying above it so it provided the perfect amount of shade. I plopped down on the ground and leaned back on the log. Ron walked around and examined the area before sitting down next to me.

"This is a very beautiful place." Ron said closing his eyes and leaning back.

"That's why I brought you here, I only came one other time and it was a while ago. I snuck over the wall and when I finally got here I had to turn around and go back. But I thought the place was nice so I thought it would be a great place to bring you to." I said scooting closer to him.

"Carl can you tell me more about your life before the apocalypse or like early apocalypse stories. If you want to talk about what you have been through, I mean you don't have to." He said acting as if it were a bad thing to ask.

"Yes I will and Ron you don't have to be scared when asking about my past. It's better that I bring it up so I don't forget who I am." I said grabbing his hand.

"Okay and you won't forget who you are because what has happened to you didn't make you who you are. You made yourself who you are, not the haunting memories you have." He said giving my hand a squeeze.

"A long time ago before the prison we lived on Maggie's fathers farm and the rest of her family. The reason we were there is because I got shot by one of their own on accident.  I know it's a bad thing that I got shot but if we would have never found that farm I honestly don't think I would be here today. There was this other little girl in our group, Carol's daughter named Sophia. She went missing when a herd came through on the highway we were camping on and we searched and searched for her all around that farm. She ended up being one of the walkers in their barn. I'm pretty sure that when she came walking out of that barn something changed in every single one of us there.  It wasn't long after that my dad killed his crazy best friend and when he reanimated I put him down. Then the farm got over ran we were on the road for about eight months. It was rough, the only reason I know it was eight months is because my mom was about nine months pregnant when we arrived at the prison and she was only a few weeks in when we had to leave the farm.  It is all just very rough and the farm was actually about the safest place we have been. I don't know how the herd got there but if it would not of been torn to shreds I wouldn't be here today with you. So I guess everything happens for a reason, even when it isn't a good thing." I said panting a little since I talked for ages.

"I never knew Carol had a daughter, and I also did not know what you were talking about when you told me about the first time you got shot and said the farm. But it sounds like a peaceful and quiet place with protection. I wish I could of seen it or been there with you." He said sounding so amazed by the farm.

"No you don't wish you could of been out here with me because it's terrible and I'm happy you weren't out there. The farm was pretty good, not much walker activity and a well system but it was also vulnerable to walkers since there was no fence." I said.

"Well anything is better than being on the road." He said.

"Honestly sometimes I felt safer on the road then I did in some of the places I lived." I said thinking back to the prison.

( 😄 A/N - I hope you guys liked the chapter, another one will be out tomorrow so be expecting that. Good night, love youu.)
