High school, Topaz loved school. Of course she hated the actual learning part of it, but, she loved hanging out with her friends and everyone's fashion sense in the school. Granted it was the first day of sophomore year, and everyone was dressed to impress.
She sat against one of the benches near the school entrance, schedule in hand as she waited for Principal Thomas to show up, and show her around the school. She watched students walk along the pavement, dragging themselves into the school, a few old students hanging on the stair way as the freshmen chatted away with their friends, rushing into the school so they could make it to class in time.
She frowned when she noticed the sheriff's son standing near the bike racks, with his friend, who had a terrible taste in hair styles. She took a sip of her plain coffee, and handful of trollibeans, not the best snack for breakfast, but it was better than buying food for twenty dollars that could have been made for less than twelve.
She sat back and watched a few seniors talk about their summers, the two of them smiling and laughing made Topaz grin, pushing her hair back and out of her face.
"Hey Lydia! You look," she glanced over and her frown returned, the boy with the buzzcut had a grin on his face as he watched a short, red head fly past him. "Like you're going to ignore me."
Without thinking she let out a loud laugh, but quickly covered her mouth as the two boys turned towards her, one with their eyes narrowed, the other with a grin plastered onto his face.
She watched as all of the students piled into the huge school while she waited outside, on this chilly bench as the principal was nowhere to be seen. She tapped her foot and played with her blonde hair, she didn't even have her cell phone to play with, or La-La as she was still at home, in her human form. She really had to do something about that or else her pet bunny'll have to enroll into high school.
"Hi, is this seat taken?" Topaz glance over to see a tall brunette, standing in front of her with a shy expression. She had an angular face with a sharp yet round jawline, if that was even possible.
"Oh no, you can sit right here." She smiled, moving over so she could have enough room. "I'm Topaz by the way."
"I'm Allison." Allison grinned, pushing her tight curls out of her face. "Allison Argent."
"You're new to Beacon?" Topaz suddenly asked, trying to keep the conversation going.
"Yeah, I just moved here from San Fransisco." Allison said moving her bag so it was resting on her lap. "Did you move here? Or did you just come from another school."
"I moved here from uh, some place in the south of the world." She smiled brightly, pushing her hair out of her face.
Before Allison could reply, a high pitch ring cut through the conversation. The brunette's face flushed before she let out an awkward laugh.
"Sorry, that's probably my mom."
"No worries, tell her I said hello." Topaz smiled sweetly before she turned towards her own phone, texting her friends.
Topaz: still haven't turned La-La, though I made a potential friend!
Amethyst: sounds great Top! We're missing you like crazy down here. X
Topaz: miss you guys too.
"Mom, three calls on my first day is a little overdoing it," Allison grinned, while running a hand through her long curls. Topaz quickly sent her text before pushing her phone into her bag.
