Chapter two

"Dang it! I'm gonna be late on my first day!" Lucas said running as fast as he could to Fairytail high. He dashed through the gates where his best friend, Levi stood in front of the doors.

"Dude! You're late!" Levi yelled to him. Lucas ran up next to Levi and put his hands on his knees to catch his breath. Lucas stood up and adjusted his tie and pulled back his hair.

"Sorry I'm late. I set my alarm too late." Lucas lied. He was actually really nervous about his first day. And had spent the entire morning building up his confidence in the mirror.

"We'll come on I gotta introduce you to the principle." Levi lead Lucas inside. The two boys walked down the hall and to the principal's office.

"Hello? Vermillion-sensei?" Levi said peering into the office. A short man with light blond hair popped up from behind the desk. He looked like he was 13 years old.

"Oh hey Levi-kun! Who's that with you?" He said.

"This is Lucas Heartfilia, he just transferred here." Levi responded. Vermillion-Sensei walked around his desk and walked up to Lucas.

"Welcome to Fairytail High Lucas! I'm the principle Matt Vermillion hope I hope you like it here at Fairytail High!"

He said smiling. He turned to Levi.

"Levi could you give him a quick tour before class starts?" Matt said.

Levi nodded. "C'mon Luc." He said leading him out of the principles office and into the hallway. Levi showed Luc all the basic classrooms and stuff.

"So that's the computer lab and...." A tall girl with long, black hair and piercings all over her face walked up to them. Levi's face turned red. "....Oh hey Gajeela!" Levi said stumbling over his words a little bit.

"Hey giant," Gajeel glanced over at Luc. "Who's this?" Levi, who's face was still bright red. "This is Lucas Heartfillia! H-he's new here and I'm giving him a tour." Gajeel tipped her chin up at Luc. "Nice to meet ya new kid, I'm Gajeel Redfox."

"Well anyway giant I gotta go." Gajeel said walking away. "Talk to ya later." She said disappearing around a corner. Levi watched her go. Luc looked at Levi.

"You like her!" Luc said punching Levi in the arm. Levi's face turned even redder. "Wh-what?! No! Gajeel-kun and I are just friends!" Levi said putting his hands out.

Levi quickly changed the subject. "So let's take you to guidance to get your schedule and stuff." Levi said leading Luc down the hall. As they were walking down the hall they ran into a girl with pale pink hair in gym clothes.

"Oh hey Levi-kun! Who's the nerd with you?" The girl said looking at Luc. "Excuse me? Who are you calling a nerd?" Luc said looking down at the girl. Yep you guessed it that girl is Natsumi.

"I'm calling you a nerd, nerd." Natsumi said looking up at Luc with a smug look on her face. "Natsumi!" A voice yelled. Natsumi turned around to see a tall red-haired boy scowling at her.

Natsumi immediately stopped fighting with Luc and stood up straight looking terrified. "Natsumi how many times do I have to tell you do not pick fights with the new kids!"

"Yes sir." Natsumi replied really quickly before running past him. The scarlet haired boy sighed. "Sorry about her, she's been doing that since grade school. I'm Erzo Scarlet by the way." Erzo stuck out his hand.

"I'm Lucas Heartfilia." Lucas shook Erzo's hand. "Nice to meet you Heartfillia. I look forward to seeing you in class." Erzo said before bowing and walking away.

Luc was feeling really annoyed with Natsumi. What gives her the right to call him a nerd? Ugh! The nerve!

The bell pinged signaling it was time to get to class. Levi lead Luc down the hall to his first class, which was biology. Luc sat down next to Levi at a lab table. Luc watched as students trickled in. One girl with brownish-orange hair walked up to Luc.

"Hey, are you new here?" She said acting seductive. "C'mon Loke, leave him alone!" Levi said. Loke made a pouty face and walked to the back of the classroom and sat next to a pink-haired boy.

Luc saw Natsumi walk in. She scowled at him and he glared back. Natsumi walked over and sat next to a tall girl with whiteish-blond hair. The girl and Natsumi fist bumped.

A girl with long, dark, blue almost black hair walked in. She had a boy with light blue hair following closely behind her. "Oh Gray-sama! Juvian thinks you look lovely today!" The boy said with his hands clasped together.

Gray rolled her eyes. "Yeah thanks." She said before sitting at a lab station with Juvian. Juvian continued to fawn over Gray until the teacher walked in. The teacher was a tall woman with orange hair.

"Hello class! Today w-ahh!" She said falling behind her desk. "Nice going grandma!" Natsumi yelled at the teacher. The whole class snickered. The teacher got up and threw a piece of chalk at Natsumi.

"We'll settle the score later pinky." The teacher said brushing herself off. "Anyway class today we have a new student with us, Heartfilia would you come to the front of the class?"

Luc stood up and made his way to the front of the class. "Uh, hey! I'm Lucas Heartfilia, I'm new here an-" Luc was interrupted by Natsumi. "Bor-ing! C'mon Heartfilia! You can't seriously be that boring!"

A vein popped out of Luc's forehead. "Oh yeah?! I'll show you boring pinky!" Natsumi stood up at the lab station and slammed her hands down on the station. "Come at me blondie!"

Luc was done with this girls shit. He picked up a pen off the desk and threw it at her. "HEARTFILIA, DRAGNEEL!!" The teacher yelled. The two students froze.

"What I was going to explain was that starting today I was going to be assigning your partners for the big biology project for half your grade. And since Heartfilia and Dragneel can't behave a suitable punishment for them is they have to work together."

"WHAT?!" Luc and Natsumi yelled at the same time.
