I wheeled my red suitcase into the apartment building, with my best friend Kendall close behind me. We were going to the same university. I was doing textiles and Kendall was doing art.

"Hi." I said to the greasy man in the reception. "Whereabouts are rooms 4a and 4b?"

"4 floors up, are you thick?" He rolled his eyes.

I smiled at him and replied with a sarcastic thank you.

"You don't want to be starting a fight." Kendall hissed at me as we stood in the lift.

"Greasy old git anyway." I rolled my eyes at Kendall. She hated confrontation and arguments. I loved fights. I liked being in verbal ones and watching physical ones.

"Whatever. So, you'll be across from me. Lucky you." She laughed as we got to our floor.

"What's so funny?" I turned to her. Her raven black hair shook out as she giggled.

"I can just come to your house whenever I want and you can't stop me. You gave me your spare key!"

"You're a poet and you don't know it." I said.

"Weirdo. Anyway, this is where we part ways for 30 minutes." Kendall mocked a look of sorrow.

"Good riddance." I laughed and unlocked the door. "Bye K."

"Bye Amber." She said, and I let myself in.

I walked in and I was in a hallway with several doors. I opened the one with the sound of TV coming from it.

As soon as I entered I saw a pretty Asian girl eating cornflakes on the sofa. The room was white and green, with two fabric sofas, a large TV and a bookshelf.

"Hi! I'm Amber, your new roommate." I smiled at the girl as she stood up to greet me.

"I'm Natalie." She smiled. She sounded like she was from the south. I was from Middlesbrough, but we were in a Uni in Newcastle.

"So, this is a nice place. Well from what I've seen." I smiled.

"Let me show you around." She said, placing down the bowl and walking through the door.

She showed me my room and the bathroom, and her room and the kitchen.

"No dining room though." She smiled. "But it's nice to eat on the couch."

I nodded in agreement. Whenever I could at home, I'd eat on the sofa.

I decided to unpack later and made myself a poptart, and after I did I heard a knock at the door.

"That's probably my friend Kendall." I sighed apologetically at Natalie.

I answered the door and saw Kendall and someone that looked around our age, with messy blonde hair and green eyes, and muscles I felt the urge to touch.

"Hi Amber." She said through gritted teeth. "Meet my roommate, Finn."

"Uh, hi. I'm Amber." I said. He grinned and leaned against the doorframe. Natalie came in and her smile fell into a scowl.

"Finn, for the last time, I don't have any booze!"

"Oh, Natalie? He came to meet me. This is Kendall." I gestured towards my best friend, who looked like she was ready to kill a few people.

"I actually did come to see if Natty here had any alcohol." He said.

"Natty?" Natalie laughed. "You're not the best at nicknames, are you Finn honey?"

Finn scowled at her, then he looked at me.

"You have any booze?"

"No Finn. She doesn't. Now I'll be here for an hour. You go and play Call Of Duty, okay?" Kendall said sharply.

Finn smiled and walked away.

Kendall walked in and smiled at Natalie.

"I'm Kendall, nice to meet you."

"Natalie. I was wondering what unlucky person would end up with Finn. He's starting Uni too, but he got here about two weeks ago."

"Amber, you lucky ass. You ended up with Natalie and I ended up with that."

"Hey, he's hot. You can be attracted to him. I can't be attracted to Natalie." I laughed. Natalie giggled. Kendall rolled her blue eyes.

"I'm going to kill myself living with him."
